Bone Thugs at Fader Fort (more by P Nick Curran)
Bone Thugs & Harmony

Layzie Bone told AllHipHop.com that it was simply a business decision for Bizzy Bone, who opted to remove himself from being involved with the tour, although he is prominently featured on Uni5: The World's Enemy [the crew's new LP due 4/27].

"That's true, he has other obligations and we had a difference of opinion on how much we should get for this tour... We looked at it like promo tour, he looked at it a little differently, which is cool, because his arrangement doesn't require him to be there. He's still a 1/5th member of Bone. - [AllHipHop]

And then there were four. Or is it three? Flesh-n-Bone was absent from his appearance at Fader Fort during SXSW (due to a missed flight), but from the sound of it, be may be absent for a little while longer too...
Rapper FLESH-N-BONE has pleaded not guilty to 12-year-old allegations he assaulted his mother with a gun following his arrest on Sunday (28Mar10).

The troubled star, real name Stanley Howse, was arrested during a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio after cops were tipped off about his plans to make a surprise appearance onstage with his old bandmates - the first time he'd returned to the city since 1998.

He was arrested after an attempt to sneak out of the building failed and he was placed behind bars at the Cuyahoga County Jail. -[Contactmusic]

Well, expect at least three members of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony at Irving Plaza on April 6th. Tickets are on sale.

The NYC show is part of a month-long tour. All dates & a few new videos are below...

I do too many BV parties to make it to the Fader Fort anymore. This is the second SXSW in a row I completely missed it (didn't even get to see Bone Thugs). Luckily I have these pictures and videos (and stories about a band being booed off stage)...

Bone Thugs n Harmony

Thanks to past exploits and possibly fake leaks, rumors were running wild about who might show up at this year's "Fader Fort" at SXSW. Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, The Strokes, and Black Eyed Peas were all names I read in unsubstantiated tweets and on other websites. Ends up there weren't many unannounced guests at the four-day, outdoor Levi's-sponsored venue space. Nas & Damian Marley (who have a new album coming out and are on other festival lineups) were the "special guest" on the first night, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony were the announced & exclusive headliner of the final frigid night. They went on after Sleigh Bells played.

"Yo, let's take this shit back, wayyyyyyy back," Krayzie Bone said onstage at the Fader Fort. "Back to 1995, motherfucka!" The reunited Cleveland rap group then busted out a handful of tracks off their four-million-selling '95 release, E. 1999 Eternal: "1st of tha Month," "Tha Crossroads," and "East 1999." The sound was initially a bit muddy on their turbo-fast raps, but hit a smooth streak when they got all Boyz 2 Men on "I Tried" and "Days of Our Lives," two piano ballads with three-way vocals. Hey, they're not joking about the "harmony" in their name. The throwback streak continued with tributes to Tupac, Eazy-E, and Notorious BIG, including a particularly awesome version of "Notorious Thugz," their collabo with Biggie. "Bring that fat motherfucker back to life!" Bizzy belted. Oh, snap! -- WG [Jukke]
