Raw punk favorites Brain Killer have met their maker, but will resurrect for two final shows. Tonight at Death by Audio (March 1), look for the band to team with Perdition, In School and Missionary for a wild $8 show. Must see. Tomorrow (3/2) is the final Brain Killer date, which will see the band supporting Dropdead at The Cambridge Elks Lodge in Cambridge, MA alongside related project Blood Krow Butcher. Brain Killer will release The Complete Punk Recordings today on cassette via Framework.

Suffocation's new LP, Pinnacle of Bedlam, is out now via Nuclear Blast, and the band will tour with Exhumed, Jungle Rot, Rings of Saturn, Adimiron and Lord of War. Look for that lineup to hit Saint Vitus on April 5 (tickets). Check out the new video for "As Grace Descends" below.

Saint Vitus @ Irving Plaza in 2011 (more by BBG)
Saint Vitus

Chaos in Tejas (May 31-June 3 in Austin) have announced ANOTHER batch of bands to add to their ridiculous lineup including Saint Vitus, Church of Misery, No Statik, Toys That Kill, Pegasus, Martial Canterel, Anasazi, Bloodwing (mems of The Spits, who are on tour soon), Harm's Way, Hatred Surge, the Hex Dispensers, John Wesley Coleman, Joyce Manor, and many many others. The current full lineup and flyer is below and tickets are FINALLY going on sale TODAY (1/31).

Doom legends Saint Vitus are currently preparing their new LP Lillie: F-65 for Season of Mist. The record, their eighth and first in seventeen years (!), is tentatively set for release at the end of March. More details are forthcoming.

In related news, members of Mind Eraser also serve as personnel in Magic Circle, another Chaos in Tejas band. Look for Magic Circle to team with Pilgrim (who we recently interviewed), Windhand, and Natur at Public Assembly on March 1st.

Dropdead at Europa (more by Keith Marlowe)
Dropdead

Chaos in Tejas have announced another round of bands for their 2012 shindig (first round here), including rare appearances from legendary post-hardcore band Moss Icon (a one-time only reunion), as well as Japan's Reality Crisis and Skizophrenia (their only US dates), and repeat offenders/favorites like Dropdead, Municipal Waste, Midnight, Ares Kingdom, Puerto Rico Flowers, Xeno & Oaklander, Thou, the Rival Mob, Boston Strangler, Crazy Spirit, Brain Killer, Power Trip, Wiccans (who just played one of the final shows at Emo's), and many many others. A full list of additions and the new flyer is below.

Since the original announcement, two previously announced bands have dropped off the original lineup: Mexican black metal band Nyogthaeblisz disappeared from the lineup after their anti-Islamic/Semitic/Abrahamic stance and involvement in known NSBM (National Socialist) label Satanic Skinhead was pointed out by a few blogs. That led to Antisect and The Mob even threatening to not play. Word then spread that Disma's Craig Pillard released nazi-glorifying records under the name Sturmfuhrer. Disma then dropped out as well due to "the drama" that ensued. Craig would not comment on the matter, but other members of Disma say he has changed.

In related news, Thou will hit the road for a string of dates with The Body this week on the West Coast. Both bands will also be at the inaugural Gilead Media festival (chaired by the Gilead Media label) in Oshkosh, Wi on 4/28 and 4/29 which will feature appearances from (in alphabetical order) Arms Aloft, Aseethe, Ash Borer, Baby Boy, Darger + Plague Mother, False, Fell Voices, Get Rad, Hell, Loss, Mutilation Rites, Northless, Protestant, A Scanner Darkly, and Sleepwalker. More details are available at the site.

All tour dates, new additions to Chaos in Tejas, and the show flyer is all below.

Gaza

West Coast punks No Statik will return to NYC to play Acheron on January 7th. Details on support are still TBA. This San Francisco band features members of great bands like Artimus Pyle, Scrotum Grinder, and Look Back And Laugh and is streaming some material below.

Agoraphobic Nosebleed is streaming a new set of songs available from their forthcoming flexi in Decibel. Stream those at Soundcloud. Make sure to check out the lyrics, which diss everyone from Scion to Obituary to Kurt Ballou and everyone in between. Speaking of Obituary, I have a pair of tickets available for giveaway for their Saturday (11/19) show at Santos. Details on how to win are below.

After playing a FREE show at Acheron a couple weeks ago, Seraphim will return to play with Pilgrim, Dutchguts and The Year is One on December 15th at Saint Vitus. The band is returning form a recent stint of dates with Pulling Teeth overseas.

Windhand will team with NATUR and Pilgrim for a 3/1 show at Public Assembly. Windhand ripped it at Acheron in their last outing, and their new LP out soon on Forcefield is gold. Ordering details are forthcoming but doom fans, you need this one.

As previously discussed, Brain Killer will lead a Nick Poot memorial show on 11/26 at Tommy's Tavern. Joining the band will be Green Beret, featuring members of the great Social Circkle. Check out their demo above and buy a cassette copy via their label. Social Circkle also recently released their Expiration Date EP via Side Two, check out "No I Won't" from that release above. Fans of 80s style hardcore take note of both.

A full set of photos of Gaza at Acheron on 11/12, a Doomsday Student video, and all suggested shows are below. What did I miss?

Brain Killer

While I was watching a man beat another with a pizza box, Boston hardcore band Brain Killer played a pair of shows as part of a memorial in honor of Nick Poot, the first of which hit Tommy's Tavern on Jan 15th with Nomad, Earthpig, State of Decline & Longpigs (some pics are over at show booker Undead's site). The second show, where the photos in this post orginate from, took place over this weekend (Jan 22nd) at 538 Johnson with Parasytic, Perdition, and Nomos. Jason House reports:

It was really intense, especially when it came time for Brain Killer. There was PA trouble right before Parasytic was set to start, and it was switched out for one that obviously wasn't able to handle it. It did the trick, but the last 2 sets essentially sounded like they were being screamed through a CB radio. By the end, nearly everyone in the room was singing along so it didn't really much matter anyway. I never had a chance to meet Nick or see him play, but judging by energy in that room, he will be sorely missed.
R.I.P. Nick. More photos from #201 at 538 Johnson are below.
