As I type this, Radiohead just opened their second Saturday night Coachella headlining set in a row with "Bloom". I wonder how/if their setlist will vary from last week (pics from last time HERE). We'll know soon (update: we know now).

Brainfeeder beatsmith Teebs and Prefuse 73, who Teebs probably picked up a few tricks from along the way, have announced that they'll be putting a collaborative album out together under the name Sons of the Morning. Prefix points to a series of tweets between the two producers starting with Teebs tweeting, "@prefuse73 im in NY on the 30th...you home then ?" and Prefuse 73 responding, "@teebsio yup! I'm there! + this musical email is amazing. I gt the Other '5/5/2k12'. @teebsio + @ prefuse73 are: "SONS OF THE MORNING."

Meanwhile, the reason that Teebs will be in NY today (3/30) is because his North American tour with Sonnymoon and Time Wharp is hitting Santos Party House TONIGHT (3/30). Doors are at 9 PM and tickets are $10 at the door. To promote the tour, the three producers made a "collaborative mix featuring recently released tracks from Teebs, Sonnymoon, & Time Wharp, as well as support acts, personal favorites, and remixes." Martyn began DJ and promoting d&b nights in Holland as far back as 1996, but it was as recent as three years ago that his production began to be recognised. He had releases on Marcus Intalex's Revolv:R, both d&b and dubstep-- fitting since Marcus Intalex released one of the first deep house inspired dubstep-esque singles "Taking Over Me" as far back as 2000. But while Martyn bought into early Wookie material, it wasn't until Kode9's "Sine of the Dub" that Martyn took notice of dubstep. "I heard that record and it fitted right into some of the music I was hunting down at that time such as the reggae/techno from Berlin like Rhythm & Sound, Main Street and Basic Channel," he explains. Martyn released his second LP, Ghost People, last month via FlyLo's Brainfeeder label. The album is full of hollow dubstep beats in the vein of Kode9, who is mentioned above as one of Martyn's influences, and features guest vocals on the first track by Spaceape, who collaborated with Kode9 in 2006 for the pioneering Memories of the Future album, and again earlier this year on the duo's followup, Black Sun. But what really makes Ghost People a memorable listen is the way he works in his house influences. He can come out sounding like a better version of Deadmau5's early material (before he began taking a much frattier direction). The songs layer four-on-the-floor beats with more off-kilter ones and almost always use percussion in the forefront of the song, with a sparse melody in the background. The one exception is the album's especially house-y closing track, "We Are You In The Future," which opens with a catchy bouncing synth line that gets built off for almost 9 minutes, and is by far the longest track on the album. Martyn's only got one North American date coming up and its The FIXED Holiday Bash at Public Assembly on December 16 with Jonas Reinhardt (live), Andrew "The Wiz" Potter, Ulysses, JDH & Dave P, and a back room hosted by Throne of Blood. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

The full schedule for MoMa's 20l1 'Warm Up' season at PS1 has since been announced. The dance parties happen at the Long Island City location every Saturday from July 2 through September 3 from 2 PM to 9 PM. Admission is $15 and includes access to all exhibitions and 'Warm Up.' Check out the full lineup below.

As discussed, Four Tet and Matthewdavid play 'Warm Up' on July 9. STBRKT (who recently collaborated with Little Dragon) along with FaltyDL and others are also on that bill.

Other days feature Delicate Steve, Odd Future DJ Syd tha Kyd, Black Dice, Juan Maclean, Blood Orange, Solange, Grimes, Tanlines, Sun Araw and many other DJs, producers and and bands. Das Racist, Simian Mobile Disco, Ford & Lopatin, Gang Gang Dance and a few other groups are performing DJ sets.

Electronic musician Flying Lotus--aka Steve Ellison--is no stranger to the world of Radiohead. Not only did Thom Yorke guest on the producer's critical-fave of last year, Cosmogramma, the Radiohead frontman took Ellison on tour as a guest of his then-touring side project Atoms For Peace. Flying Lotus' influence hangs heavy over the "free jazz, cut-n-paste" approach of Radiohead's most recent album The King of Limbs, and just last week, Yorke turned up at a club in downton LA to mix side-by-side with Ellison.

So it comes as little surprise to hear that Flying Lotus claims that he has been tapped to remix the King of Limbs, according to an interview in the Colorado Springs Independent:

Indy: [Thom Yorke] was also on your last album. Are there any more collaborations like that in the works?

FL: Not that I know of. They wanted me to remix the new Radiohead record, and I've been trying to mess with that a little bit. But I haven't gotten to it yet.

Indy: Tell us what that'll sound like when you're done with it?

FL: It's too early to say, man. I have no fucking clue. It's difficult to work with, because the pieces that they gave me, there's no real a cappella. It's like piano and voice at the same time.

Indy: So you can't separate them.

FL: No, I can't. So I have to come up with some shit that's a little similar to the record, I guess, to an extent.

Flying Lotus's next live date is the Sasquach Festival, and in June he will headline a pair of Brainfeeder showcases (his label) in NYC. They take place at Bowery Ballroom on 6/20 and Music Hall of Williamsburg on 6/22 with appearances from labelmates Thundercat, Austin Peralta, Teebs, and Dr. Strangeloop. Tickets for both shows just went on sale

In related news, Gaslamp Killer and Matthewdavid, both of which have releases on Brainfeeder, will play a show together at Knitting Factory on 5/28 (tickets). A few days later, Matthewdavid will join Sun Araw Band at 285 Kent.

The Cool Kids @ Highline Ballroom (More by Leia Jospe)

On some level, yes, perhaps this was inevitable. But after many locals realizing it for some time now, it seems that the Chicago-based hip-hop duo The Cool Kids--or more likely, the people who represent them--have finally been hipped to the fact that, here in [Dallas Forth Worth], there exists a lo-fi punk outfit by the name of the Teenage Cool Kids. And, as such, the Cool Kids' handlers have sent Teenage Cool Kids a cease and desist order, asking that the band change its name. [Dallas Observer]

Looks like somebody lost their cool (ZING!)....

In related news, The Cool Kids AND KOOL Keith (will they go after him too?) are part of the recently announced All Points West lineup. Both Cool & Kool play on Saturday Aug 1st... that's the NON-Beastie Boys / Q-Tip / Pharcyde / Organized Konfusion (!!!!!)/ Flying Lotus day (which is Friday, July 31).

Kool Keith will also appear at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC on April 3rd, but this time as Dr Octagon vs Dr Doom. All dates below.

And probably the most exciting news (to me anyway) out of the APW lineup is the reformation of the mighty Organized Konfusion! The crew released their last LP in 1997, The Equinox which was proceeded by the classic self-titled and Stress: The Extinction Agenda LPs. Since then, Pharoahe Monch has been busy with his own ventures including writing rhymes for certain millionaires and showing up to support his friends The Roots at Highline Ballroom. Prince Po hasn't exactly sat idle either... his last album, The Saga Of The Simian Samurai dropped in 2007. Some videos below.

In other APW-playing, hip hop artist news, Q-Tip who always keeps busy performing (most recently on tour with the Cool Kids) and spinning, will be gettin' down at the 92nd St Y in Tribeca, James Lipton style:

Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg hosts a night of music and conversation featuring famed hip-hop musician and producer Q-Tip, a member of the legendary band A Tribe Called Quest. Rosenberg will sit down with Q-Tip for a candid discussion about the life and influences of this innovative artist, whose career has spanned over 20 years. Jazz hip-hop fusion band Igmar Thomas and The Cypher will perform throughout the night, paying tribute to Q-Tip's music.

Tickets are on sale.

Beastie Boys recently reissued (deluxe style) Check Your Head, and have been announcing lots of festival appearances for this summer.

And finally, Flying Lotus (the "experimental music producer, disc jockey, and laptop musician from Winnetka, California") will be in NYC before before All Points West, including two dates in the next month - April 16th and 17th. On April 16th, Flying Lotus will join Kode9, Martyn, Mike Slott, Pursuit Grooves, Ras_G, and Zomby as part of Brainfeeder NYC (Part 1) at Love, a showcase for Flying Lotus's all-digital label Brainfeeder. The next day look for Flying Lotus and Kode9 to play the American Museum of Natural History as part of The Fader Presents One Step Beyond (advance tickets are available).
