The Body at Saint Vitus (more by BBG)

You'd think that in between all of the relentless touring and the fact that All of The Waters Of The Earth Turned To Blood was released a little more than a year ago, a record wouldn't be in the cards just yet for oddball doomers The Body. But Providence twosome have returned to the studio and his time they've teamed with Braveyoung to create a collaborative LP in Nothing Passes, out now via At a Loss.
The results are fascinating; elements of post-rock, dark-ambient, The Body's signature doom rattle, The Assembly Of Light Choir's heavenly vocals, and drone combine to create a work that embodies both of the collaborators' previous efforts, yet also touches on the operatic and sad melodies of Pink Floyd on the final Exhuma cover "The Vision". Stream "The Vision", as well as the entire Nothing Passes LP below, and look for The Body on tour, including on 10/8 at ABC No Rio with Thou!
If you missed out on the gorgeous post-rock majesty of the latest LP from Braveyoung, We Are Lonely Animals, make sure and seek that out too. The record, released this year via The End, flew pretty low under the radar but was an excellent piece of work.
All tour dates, the album stream and video of their collaboration is below.

The Body at LPR (more by Greg Cristman)

BrooklynVegan is proud to present doom faves The Body at Saint Vitus on September 6th with special guests Bruce Lamont, Man's Gin, and Iron Tides. The show is the first of a string of US dates for The Body which will continue the following day with Braveyoung in celebration of the pair's collaborative LP together.
After a collaborative recording session at Providence's Machines With Magnets (Battles, Daughters, Lightning Bolt, Chinese Stars) earlier this year, the end result has surfaced as Nothing Passes, a layered but cohesive voyage through cavernous, noise-laden tumult and chaos, ethereal horror-soundtrack creepouts and even serene acoustic passages, exploring new styles for both acts. The album also features vocal contributions from members of The Assembly Of Light Choir who have also previously collaborated live with THE BODY and BRAVEYOUNG, as well as a cover of Exuma's song, The Vision.Look for that LP on 9/27 via At A Loss.
Meanwhile, Bruce Lamont & Man's Gin are heading out for a weekend together, tagging Chicago and Philly on the way to NYC. Full tour dates and some video of that Body/Braveyoung collaboration below.

Braveyoung

The Body played their second show this year (first was with Universal Order of Armageddon) at Union Pool on Tuesday 2/22. Their tourmates Braveyoung and locals Elks were also on the bill. The show was three sets by three bands, and nothing like the a few nights prior in Pawtucket, RI at Machines with Magnets where The Body and Braveyoung collaborated on stage. Video of that collabo is below, and look for the corresponding LP in the near future.
Braveyoung is also readying the release of their forthcoming LP We Are Lonely Animals. You can preorder it now and stream it in its entirety.
Meanwhile, both The Body (who will be back on 4/1 with Whitehorse and Unearthly Trance) and Braveyoung are on the road to SXSW (the Boyd play the BV/PLore show at Lovejoys on 3/19). All tour dates, some video, and more pictures from Union Pool are below.
