NME

Long-running UK music weekly NME has just published their Year-End issue and have named Tame Impala's Lonerism as album of the year, with Grimes, Frank Ocean, Crystal Castles and Alt-J rounding out the Top 5. Tame Impala offshoot Pond comes in at #7. Check out the entire Top 50 list below.

As mentioned before, Tame Impala just announced a 2013 tour, and will play Terminal 5 in NYC on February 19. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (11/30) at noon.

Breton

UK band Breton released their debut LP, Other People's Problems, earlier this year and are continuing to tour in support of it. They'll be back in North America for another run of dates later this summer which brings them to NYC for a show at Bowery Ballroom on September 6 with D/R/U/G/S. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (7/13) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (7/11) at noon.

We try to keep tabs on various festivals around the world here on BrooklynVegan, many of which you'll eventually see pictures from. Today we focus on Belgium.

Pukkelpop goes down from August 16 - 18. That festival includes The Stone Roses, Bjork, Bloc Party, The Black Keys, Refused, Wilco, The Hives, The Shins, The Afghan Whigs, Lykke Li, Hot Chip, Feist, Flying Lotus, tUnE-yArDs, Chromatics, Cloud Nothings, The Tallest Man on Earth, Baroness, Ceremony, A-Trak, Rustie, Hudson Mohawke, and more. The full lineup is listed below. Tickets for the festival are on sale now.

Rock Werchter, which falls a bit more on the mainstream side, happens in Belgium even sooner, running from June 28 - July 1. That lineup includes The Cure, Jack White, X, Mastodon, Garbage, The xx, M83, Metric, Amon Tobin, Skrillex, Perfume Genius, Bat For Lashes, Michael Kiwanuka, Alabama Shakes, My Morning Jacket, Regina Spektor, Florence + the Machine, The Vaccines and more. Tickets for the festival are on sale now sold out.

Breton

London's Breton were just in Austin for SXSW and before they head home they'll play a NYC show TONIGHT (3/21) at Mercury Lounge with Gold Fields. Tickets are available.

You may know Breton from the remixes they've done for Maps & Atlases and Local Natives, or the audio/visual work they've done for Tricky, but they've also been releasing EPs of their own material. Now they've got a debut full length, Other People's Problems, set to come out on April 3 in the US and March 26 in the UK via FatCat. The album pulls from two rather different, but distinctly UK styles of music. They've got a mix of James Blake-ian beats and the tense vocals of UK dance-punk groups like Klaxons and Foals. Check out the video for "Interference" off the album, which they wrote, filmed, and directed themselves, below. The album artwork and tracklist are below too.

We Were Promised Jetpacks

We Were Promised Jetpacks, who were last in NYC to headline Webster Hall (and perform for our Green Room Sessions) (which was not long after they were here for CMJ), are currently on a European tour that goes through February. They'll follow that with a North American tour, which hasn't been announced in full yet but so far includes the sold out Coachellas and a few others including NYC shows happening on May 3 at Bowery Ballroom and and May 4 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets for both NYC shows go on sale Friday (1/27) at noon with an AmEx presale starting (1/25) at noon.
