Kvelertak @ The Studio at Webster Hall, 5/17/2013 (more by Keith Marlowe)
Kvelertak

Kvelertak brought the temperature up a few degrees in the basement of Webster Hall, when the band joined Cancer Bats and Black Tusk as part of a sold-out show at The Studio on May 17. More sweaty, stage-divey, rafter-hang-y pictures are at InvisibleOranges. The show was part of a tour for the Norwegian party-metal crew in celebration of their new LP, Meir, out now.

Speaking of, we finally announced the lineup for our Friday (10/19) day part at Public Assembly which starts at noon. Check out the line-up here.

One of tonight's shows, the France Rocks showcase at the Union Square Ballroom lost both Bertrand Burgalat and Juveniles from the bill today, we are sad to report.

Gwar at Irving Plaza in June (more by Chris La Putt)
GWAR

Gwar, who played NYC last month as part of Irving Plaza's Zombie Prom, have just announced the 'Fate or Chaos' 2012 Fall Tour with DevilDriver, Cancer Bats and Legacy of Disorder which will invade NYC on October 16 on Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, July 27 at noon.

October's MHOW show won't be the first time that Gwar plays the Brooklyn venue. The band brought their bloody mess to that venue back in 2011 too and it was packed, messy, and sold out, just as this next one is sure to be.

All dates on the 'Fate or Chaos' tour are listed below...

Stza of SFH, at Gramercy with Leftover Crack (more by Justina Villanueva)
SFH

Star Fucking Hipsters is a ska-punk/crust punk/Indie band that was started by Leftöver Crack's vocalist Stza and [then] drummer Brandon as a side project.. Unfortunately, Brandon died before the band was fully formed. However, Stza continued and... the band started playing shows in the New York City area early in August 2005.... Their debut album was released by Fat Wreck Chords on September 30, 2008, entitled "Until We're Dead". -[Wiki]
Star Fucking Hipsters have a new slab of tunes out on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label. Dig on a pair of tracks from that release, Never Rest in Peace, above.

The NYC band will hit the road for a string of dates with Anti-Flag, Cancer Bats and Aiden as part of "The Economy Sucks, Let's Party" Tour. Look for that to hit NYC at Highline Ballroom on 2/4/10. Tickets are on sale. Prediction: bottle service and the Highline Ballroom kitchen will not do well that night. The tour hits Starland Ballroom one day later. Tickets are on sale for that too.

More info on the SFH album and all dates below...
