BOLD/Battery at Rev25, 10/13/2012

The third night of the Revelation Records 25th anniversary celebration (10/13) featured the reunited Chain of Strength (who played Acheron and the night before), NYHC favorites Bold, DC's Battery, Shai Hulud (with their original vocalist) and upstarts Shook Ones. The show marked the halfway point of a four night stay at Irving Plaza.
Meanwhile, across town the same night, Saint Vitus was hosting a sold out appearance from Sunday's headliner Into Another who would go on to headline the final night at Rev25 and just announced more dates.
More pictures from Rev25 night three are below, if you missed it, check out pictures from night one HERE and night two HERE.
Chain of Strength / flying trashcans at Acheron 10/11/2012

Chain of Strength played Acheron last night (10/11) joined by support from Clear and Creem, a prequel to their two-night stay as part of Revelation 25. As expected, the lines at Acheron were massive by the time door hit at 11PM, with Brooklyn's Creem hitting at 11:30 sharp and the entire affair all wrapped up by 1:30AM. The room was wall-to-wall stagedives, X'd-up hands and energy for the entirety of their set. Pictures and video from Acheron are below.
Sick of It All is scheduled to headline Irving Plaza tonight (10/12) as part of the second night of Revelation 25, joining CoS, Mouthpiece, Damnation AD and Popeye.
Meanwhile across town, the punk antidote to Chain of Strength was playing Lulu's: Japanese noise-punks D-Clone with Perdition, Nomad, Bortgang and more. Who went?
More pictures / video from Acheron are below, along with set times for the remainder of the Revelation shows.

Speaking of Rev25, Chain of Strength, who are scheduled to play two nights of the celebration, have added a late show THURSDAY (10/11) at Acheron (!) with Clear (ex Have Heart) and Brooklyn's own Creem. There will be very limited tickets at the door for civilians, with many of the tickets allocated to VIP wristbands for the Revelation Records attendees. Get there early! It should be nuts.
In other Revelation-extracirricular activites news, On the Might of Princes at Saint Vitus on Friday (10/12) is waaaay sold out, but luckily the band will play the venue TONIGHT (10/10) as well, part of a bill with Gameface, Descender, Model Home. The show is FREE and 21+. The show also promises "another possible special guest"... could it be Texas is the Reason (who have a sold-out show at MHoW tonight)?
Saint Vitus will also host the sold-out Into Another show on 10/13.

Sick of it All at Webster Hall, 2011 (more by Kurt Christensen)

Sick of it All have been added as the special guest at the Revelation 25 show on Friday (10/12) at Irving Plaza, joining on Chain of Strength, Mouthpiece, Damnation AD and the newly added Popeye. Tickets are still available.
In related news, Texas is The Reason play a sold-out show with States & Kingdoms at Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight (10/10) and will be at Rev25 on Thursday with Underdog, Shades Apart, Gameface, and On The Might Of Princes. Both shows are sold-out.
In other news, Project X and Curl Up and Die have dropped off the Revelation shows entirely. Check out flyers for all Revelation shows below.

Not satisfied enough with the current lineup, Revelation Records have added a "Special Guest" headliner to mix it up with Chain of Strength, Mouthpiece, and Damnation AD on 10/12 at Irving Plaza. Tickets are still available for that night and other shows during the four-day celebration of the influential hardcore label.
Who could it be? It definitely isn't Quicksand, whose bassist is out on tour with Deftones in that timeframe.

After weeks of speculation, the full Revelation 25 lineups are finally here:

Youth of Today at Acheroon, January 2012 (more by Jason House)

The East Coast version of the Revelation Records 25 lineup officially exploded with the announcement of 8 new bands (!) to their lineup which happens October 11 - 14 at Irving Plaza in NYC. Joining the previously discussed Chain of Strength, Into Another, Bold and Texas is The Reason will be appearances from Youth of Today, Supertouch, Underdog, Iceburn, Battery, Shai Hulud, Gameface, and Mouthpiece. No word on who else will be in the lineup, or when we can expect tickets to surface but we'll keep you informed.
As discussed Quicksand is not in the lineup so far. But they also aren't in the House of Vans lineup either.

OFFICIAL flyers

The previously discussed dates (10/11 - 10/14) for the Revelation Records 25h Anniversary show have been confirmed publicly by the label who has now released a second flyer. The first was the one with the "X" that we posted about 6/17 (which went up on the Revelation site the next day) and now we have this second flyer which clearly points out the state of Texas. Can we look forward to Chain of Strength with Texas is The Reason? Seems alot more likely than Quicksand.
UPDATE: Looks like Into Another is on board, from the looks of the flyer below (that came from the Revelation Records website).

According to a source close to the festival, the previously rumored Chain of Strength will indeed headline two of the four nights of the Revelation Records East Coast four-day celebration. The band will appear at both the October 12th and 13th shows, though still no word on additional bands slated for the gala. We do know that Quicksand isn't one of them though (at the moment anyway). Ticketing info is still forthcoming.
Chain of Strength split 21 years ago, leaving a lasting impression with their True Till Death 7" and The One Thing That Still Holds True full length, both of which hit via Revelation Records. The LP's catalog number was REV-010, could that (and a straight edge reference) be the significance of the "X" in the flyer?
Check out some video of Chain of Strength in the 90s below, alongside a video of Mouthpiece covering the band's "True Til Death" in Pomona for Revelation Records West Coast Anniversary show....

Is this flyer real?

The above flyer recently popped up on Facebook and though there is not any concrete confirmation on the dates, it seems to go along with recent reports of a set of NYC shows to counter-balance the 25th Anniversary spectacular on the West Coast. No word on who may play the event, the significance of the "X" (other than the obvious straight-edge connection), but rumors have names like Quicksand (who reunited for the celebration), Chain of Strength, and some of the other usual suspects from the recent Pomona shows. Fingers crossed.
Check out some recently surfaced video of full sets by Sick of it All, Youth of Today and Quicksand from the California shows below alongside an old Chain of Strength set from the 90s.
