Dan Deacon @ MHOW, 11/16/2012 (more by David Andrako)

Dan Deacon made his national network television debut last night (12/13) on Jimmy Kimmel Live, playing "True Thrush" from his most recent album, America. Like at his live shows, Dan and his band played mostly in darkness and incorporates an iPhone app into his crowd-participation antics. You can experience a little of that symbiosis in the video from the Kimmel performance which has an interactive element, which you can watch below. Dan's North American tour wraps up this weekend in Florida and he'll head to Europe in February for a short tour there. All dates are listed below.
Meanwhile, Dan gave us his Top 10 LPs of 2012 which includes Baltimore pals Ed Schrader's Music Beat, Beach House, Dope Body, Chester Endersby Gwazda (who Dan brought on tour with him this year) and Horse Lords. You can check it out below, along with a list of tour dates and the 'Kimmel' video.

Dan Deacon @ Bowery Ballroom - 11/16/12

Dan Deacon brought his ongoing tour to NYC last week for shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg (11/14) and Bowery Ballroom (11/16). Dan, who is from Long Island, turned both shows into benefit shows to aid relief efforts from Hurricane Sandy.
Dan has been touring behind his new album, America, and played much of the material from that release at his NYC shows, where he also brought his usual dance-floor-commanding antics. We caught the Bowery Ballroom show, and pictures from that show (including openers Height with Friends, Chester Endersby Gwazda, and Alan Resnick) are in this post.
More below.
Dan Deacon at Pier 84 last week (more by Amanda Hatfield)

Yesterday, we mentioned that Dan Deacon expanded his tour to include a NYC show, which happens on November 14 at Music Hall of WIlliamsburg. It's since been revealed that he'll also play November 16 at Bowery Ballroom. Both of those shows are part of the leg of the tour which sees the Dan Deacon Ensemble will be performing with support from Height With Friends, Chester Endersby Gwazda, and Alan Resnick. Tickets for both NYC shows go on sale Friday (7/20) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (7/18) at noon.
We recently mentioned on BV Austin that Dan Deacon recorded a version of "Call Me Maybe" dubbed "Call Me Maybe Acapella 147 Times Exponentially Layered." You can purchase it for $1 on bandcamp or stream it below along with an updated list of dates.

Dan Deacon at Pier 84 last week (more by Amanda Hatfield)

You may have noticed that about a month ago, Music Hall of Williamsburg's website posted a Dan Deacon show, but quickly removed it. That was presumably not to compete with the free River Rocks show on Pier 84 that Dan just played because now that that's over, it's been re-announced that Dan Deacon will play Music Hall of Williamsburg on November 14.
The show is part of his previously discussed tour where the Dan Deacon Ensemble will be performing with support from Height With Friends, Chester Endersby Gwazda, and Alan Resnick. Tickets for the Brooklyn show go on sale Friday (7/20) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (7/18) at noon.
A list of updated dates and streams of "Lots" and "True Thrush" from Dan Deacon's upcoming America LP are below...
