Coke Bust at Acheron (more by BBG)

Coke Bust will return to NYC with Tenement, D.O.C. and Rational Animals to play Acheron on 1/4. The show is one of a few dates for the fast-hardcore crew. Chris of Coke Bust/Magrudergrind will also be playing drums with D.O.C. when they play Saturday (12/17) at Death By Audio with Triac, Backslider (who are streaming a new track), and Psychic Limb as part of Defeatist's farewell show. Defeatist's Tyranny of Decay was one of my favorite records of 2011, and the Coke Bust show at Acheron was also one of my favorites of the year.
Weekend Nachos have added a gang of dates with Homewrecker leading up to their appearance at A389 Anniversary. Those dates include a stop at ABC No Rio on 1/19. Full tour schedule is below.
Morbid Saint will hit the road for a pair of East Coast gigs that will include Europa on 1/20 with Deceased, Carcinogen and Midnight Hellion. Tickets are on sale.
Check out a new track from The Devil's Blood, as well as a teaser for a second track below. The band's new LP The Thousandfold Epicentre hits via Metal Blade on January 17th.
Maruta has called it quits.
Poison Idea will reissue Darby Crash Rides Again: The Early Years, The Fatal Erection Years (aka Pick Your King/Record Collectors are Pretentious Assholes), War All The Time, Ian Mackaye, Feel The Darkness, We Must Burn and Last Will & Testament via Southern Lord and TKO Records.
Pallbearer was great for the limited time that I saw them at Rites of Darkness (due to schedule changes), and now you can stream a new track from their forthcoming Profound Lore LP via Pitchfork. Look for Sorrow and Extinction via the label on February 21st.
Birds In Row will release Collected via Vitriol on January 17th, a prelude to their Deathwish release due next year. Collected features previously released tracks from the French sludgy-hardcore band, and is streamable in full below. Preorder your copy of Collected via Vitriol.
On another note, this will be the final Evillive until the New Year, so have a happy one and make sure and leave any notes/comments below. Thanks for reading, and supporting independent music in 2011. All suggested shows, Weekend Nachos dates, and some streams are below.

Coke Bust @ Acheron

Coke Bust and Sick Fix played TWO NYC shows on Saturday (11/19, at ABC No Rio and later at Acheron) as part of a string of East Coast dates for the pair. Miscegenator and DBCR joined the pair at ABC No Rio, while Acheron featured appearances from Masakari (who drove in from Cleveland specifically for the show) and Grudges (who played Saint Vitus the night before with Black Anvil/Bloodiest).
All four bands at Acheron ripped it; Grudges played a hardcore influenced set with death growl vocals that got the room primed for excellent sets by DC fastcore greats Sick Fix and the chaos that ensued during sets by d-beat-ers Masakari and also DC fastcore killers Coke Bust. Do your best to see any/all bands that played Acheron as soon as you can. More pictures from that show below...

Advance tickets are not available, so make sure you get to the Acheron early to send-off NYC's best grind band right.
Defeatist recently released their final LP Tyranny of Decay. Stream it below in full and order your copy before they (the band and the LP) disappear for good.

Citizens Arrest at Europa (more by Keith Marlowe)

"Joe Martin, who played in Citizens Arrest during ABC No Rio's early days, remembers the space as offering a second chance. "For me, I had made the promise to myself that I would stop going to hardcore shows the day I got beat up. And then it happened to me, at one of the hardcore matinees they had--Judge, Born Against, and Affirmative Action. Some skinhead picked a fight with me and maybe I didn't get beat up, but I did get punched. So I said, that was it, no more, because I knew everytime I would go to a show from then on, I'd see this guy and panic and run away. But then ABC started, and right then and there, that feeling stopped. Every week I'd go there, I didn't care who was playing--I'd go support any band, and I guess for a while a lot of other people did too. There'd be a solid 50 people for every show."" [ABC No Rio history]Citizens Arrest will play ABC No Rio again on 12/17/2011, their first time since 1991! Joining them is the all-star lineup of Mind Eraser, Night Birds, The Inflatable Children and Death First at what will one of the last shows in the old ABC No Rio space. It's also a benefit for the the organization which will get a new building in 2012 (we don't have an exact close date yet). $10 gets you in the door. No advanced tickets.
Other upcoming shows at ABC No Rio include Japanther with The Homewreckers, Devestation Wagon, TitFit on 10/29, Boom Boom Kid, Wud Link, Ilegales Sin Fronteras, and Mi Culpa on 11/5, Wound, Skelptarsis, Kama Rupa, and (A)Truth on 11/12,Miscegnator, Coke Bust, DBCR, Sick Fix on 11/19 (Coke Bust play later that night with Masakari at Acheron), Tombs & Inhuman on 12/3, and Mischief Brew, The Swaggerin' Growlers and more TBA on 12/10.
Japanther, who played CMJ last week at Party Xpo and DROM on 10/21, has one other date scheduled before the end of the year, on 12/2 in Troy, NY at EMPAC as part of a "commissioned performance piece."
As previously mentioned, members of Mind Eraser will hit Acheron next week (on 11/3) as part of The Rival Mob, with appearances from Young Offenders, Give, and Airfix Kits.
