AFE; file under brutal promo shots, houseplants

You had better have some big cojones to name your band A Fucking Elephant. The technical/progressive two-piece (bass/drums) are prepping to release their classily-titled Seven Inches of A Fucking Elephant, a two song effort that demonstrates the band's prowess as an instrumental powerhouse. At times AFE sound like they've studied the jaw-dropping skills of their recording engineer Colin Marston (the 7" was laid to tape at his A Thousand Caves studio) while others give glimpses of latter Bastard Noise. Behold the Arctopus, winner of the best band photo ever

Technical metal favorites Behold the Arctopus are back to wield the Warr guitar on Horrorscension, the band's new LP out now via Black Market Activities. Stream the entire LP below.

Though BTA have no tour dates on tap, Dysrhythmia (featuring Colin Marston) are currently touring their little (blackened) hearts out. Look for the band to hit Public Assmebly on 11/17 as part of a show with Loincloth and STATS (tickets). Dysrhythmia's new LP Test of Submission is out now via Profound Lore (for CD) and Nerve Altar (for vinyl).

Now Southern Lord brings word of "Punctuated Equilibrium", aka the "Wino" solo record! Backed by skinsman extraordinaire Jean-Paul Gaster (Clutch) and Jon Blank (Rez n) on bass, the new record will be tracked by producer (and legend in his own right) J Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, etc).

Fresh off of the right & left hook known as "Sleepwell Deconstructor" and "Seance Prime", hardcore punkers Trap Them will be bobbin' & weavin' through Europe and the east & west coasts through the end of April, including a date at the Charleston on March 12th and another at The Knit on June 16th. Look for them to support the massive multi-instrument collective The Ocean and grind pioneers Extreme Noise Terror in Europe.
