ARS with a "French KISS" in Vancouver (via @AuRevoirSimone)
Tomorrow (11/2) is the first Saturday in November which means it's the monthly First Saturdays event at Brooklyn Museum with free admission and live music. Au Revoir Simone, who released Move In Spectrums in September just played a couple CMJ shows, will play (5 PM) along with Tamar Kali and Watermelon. Again it's free and open to the public.
Au Revoir Simone's next NYC show will be part of the family-friendly Kidrockers afternoon concert series, which returns to Brooklyn Bowl on November 17. Ski Lodge play as well, with hosts Seth Herzog and Roger Hailes, and tickets for that show are on sale now.
The next Kidrockers show after that is December 15 at Brooklyn Bowl with Small Black and Radical Dads (Herzog and Craig Baldo host) and tickets for that show are on sale now as well.

Hospitality / Ex Cops @ Kidrockers, 2/10/2013
Braving the slush, families headed to Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday (2/10) for Kidrockers featuring Hospitality and Ex Cops. As you can see, fans rushed the stage during Hospilaty's set, which is okay as it was encouraged. Hosts Seth Herzog and Craig Baldo kept the kids entertained between sets.
Hospitality don't have any other upcoming dates, but Ex Cops are playing an early show on Friday (2/15) at Mercury Lounge with Ski Lodge (tickets) and, after SXSW, will head out on tour with Bleached, including an NYC stop at Bowery Ballroom on April 23. Tickets are still available.

Caveman / Har Mar Superstar @ Kidrockers, 1/27/2013
As mentioned, Caveman have a new album on the way via Fat Possum on April 2. What better audience to test out some new tracks than a bunch of half-pints? That's just what they did when Caveman played Kidrockers at Brooklyn Bowl on January 27, an afternoon show that also included a set from Har Mar Superstar along with hosts Craig Baldo and Jordan Carlos. Pictures are in this post.
Adults can next catch Caveman in NYC at Webster Hall, and at other places around the country.

DIIV with kids at Brooklyn Bowl
DIIV came to Brooklyn Bowl yesterday (1/13) for two hometown shows, an all ages KidRockers show around brunch time (11:30) with their Captured Tracks labelmates Widowspeak, and then a night show with Magic Trick (aka Tim Cohen of Fresh & Onlys, who is sticking around NYC to open for Father John Misty at a sold out Webster Hall show tonight). We were there for the early show, which was hosted by Seth Herzog (Jimmy Fallon/Sweet) and Craig Baldo, and pictures of that one are in this post.

Karin, Bobby and the time capsule @ Rififi, Feb 25, 2008
Invite Them Up has been a mainstay on the Downtown comedy scene for about six years, and has played host to many great talents. This week sees the end of ITU's run as a weekly show, with shows on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night to celebrate more than a half-decade of fart jokes and fireballs. If you're coming on Wednesday, bring something for the fancy time capsule.
Host Bobby Tisdale got night one-of-three underway with his patented rubbing of the microphone on some dude's balls before bringing up opening comic Greg Johnson - the co-host of the ECNY award-winning Rififi variety show 'Greg Johnson and Larry Murphy Show'. Johnson was followed by Michael Showalter whose set consisted of one of his trademark "showbiz rants" - this one about how he was only 3rd-to-last-night material and that he clearly wasn't good enough for Wednesday night before trying to tell jokes about shows nobody in the audience had seen.
