The Seaport Music Festival may have had it's last show of the season when School of Seven Bells and The XX played last Friday, but there's one more Seaport Music show happening: famously cantankerous rock legend John Fogerty will play on September 2 at 7PM. Like all Seaport shows, it's free. He'll also be appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman (9/3) and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (9/8) around that time.
That same week, Fogerty releases his new covers album, The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again, and it's a callback to his first solo album, 1973's The Blue Ridge Rangers, which found the former Creedence Clearwater Revival singer doing covers of country and gospel classics. The Seaport show will be the first time he's performed these songs live, but he'll be doing his own songs as well. His band for this show is a who's who of pros too: Kenny Aronoff (drums), Billy Burnette (guitar), Jason Mowery (fiddle/mandolin), Matt Nolen (keyboards/guitar), Hunter Perrin (guitar), David Santos (bass), and James Pennebaker (pedal steel).

As previously reported the national Blondie/Pat Benatar/Donnas tour will be making a free stop at Coney Island's Asser Levy/Seaside Park on Thursday, August 13th. That's one of the free shows at this year's Seaside Concert Series, running Thursdays at the Brooklyn park (which may soon be an amphitheater). Other 2009 acts include Creedence Clearwater Revival Revisited, Daryl Hall & John Oates, and Donna Summer.
