Music Frees All Festival returns to various NYC venues this weekend (7/17-21) including Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Bell House. The main event of the festival happens on Saturday (7/20) at the Bell House with Antibalas, The Stepkids, Pegasus Warning, and DJ Prince Paul. Tickets for that individual show are on sale now, as are tickets for the entire festival. Proceeds will go to help producer Scotty Hard (De La Soul, Black Sheep, etc) who, in 2008, was paralyzed from the chest down after a stolen car broadsided the taxi he was in. If you'd like to go for free, we're also giving away a free festival pass. Details on how to enter to win are below.

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper at Knitting Factory - 2/23/13
Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, aka Brooklyn folk singer Aly Spaltro, released her newest album, Ripely Pine, last week (2/19) via Ba Da Bing, and played a few Northeast shows in support of it this month, including a NYC show over the weekend at Knitting Factory on Saturday (2/23) with Xenia Rubinos and Cuddle Magic. It was a full band show for Lady Lamb, featuring members of both openers, members of Pearl and the Beard, and her father on guitar. Pictures from that show are in this post, and you can check out more of them below, along with the new video for "The Nothing Pt II" off Ripely Pine, and song streams of two other tracks, "Bird Balloons" and "Rooftop."
Lady Lamb the Beekeeper and Xenia Rubinos, who also played the Knitting Factory show, will be playing a couple more shows this March and then heading out on a full tour together in May, which comes back to NYC on May 11 at Glasslands. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
