Baths at FFF Fest 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)
Baths is releasing his new album, Obsidian, on May 28 via Anticon. You can check out the first single, "Miasma Sky," a jittery synth pop cut, at the bottom of this post. The album art and tracklist are below too.
Baths will be supporting the album with a tour this year which hits NYC on June 15 at Webster Hall. That show, and many others on the tour, are with Houses and D33J. Tickets for the NYC show go on sale Friday (3/22) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (3/20) at noon.
All tour dates are listed, along with the song stream, album art and tracklist, below...
As mentioned this past January, Williamsburg got a new, 452-capacity dance club, Output at 74 Wythe Ave by N. 12th St. We weren't sure exactly what types of "techno, house and other EDM styles" would be booked at the venue, but we're happy to report that they've already got some great shows coming up, as part of their weekly Thursday party, INPUT.
We already mentioned that Shlohmo's tour with D33J hits the venue on March 7, but that show is even better than we knew then, because Rustie, Jackmaster, and Oneman are on it too. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
Then on March 14, Maxxi Soundsystem will play with Compuphonic, Plastic Plates, and Let's Play House's Jacques Renault (tickets). Meanwhile, there's a Let's Play House party happening this Friday (3/1) at Le Bain with DFA Records DJ Shit Robot and Eug.
The Night Slugs crew is hitting the venue on March 21 for a great show which features Bok Bok, Kingdom, L-Vis 1990, Girl Unit, Mike Q, Rizzla, and a live set from Teengirl Fantasy collaborator Kelela. Tickets for that one are on sale now.

Shlohmo - 'Laid Out'
LA producer Shlohmo, who released the impressive Vacation EP last year, will be following that with a new EP, Laid Out, on March 5 via Friends of Friends/Wedidit. He just released the opening track, "Don't Say No," which features guest lead vocals from How to Dress Well. It sees HTDW returning to the cracked recording style of his debut LP over Shlohmo's sensual R&B beats. You can stream that and the warped hip hop of another Laid Out cut, "Later," below. That's the cover art above.
Shlohmo will be supporting the new EP with a tour that kicks off in Canada at the end of this month and makes its way to Brooklyn on March 7 at Output (74 Wythe Ave) before hitting Austin for SXSW. The Brooklyn date and a few others on the tour are with D33J.
Tour flyer, a list of all dates, those two song streams, and EP tracklist below...
