Terrible Feelings @ Death By Audio
Sweden's Terrible Feelings kicked off their US tour with a show at Death by Audio last night (6/19), playing alongside Death First, Plastic Cross and These Days. From the melodic indie of These Days, the night got steadily more punk as the clocked ticked on and surprisingly didn't change wholly in temperament when the Swedes hit the stage. Though their shiny and slickly produced new LP Shadows suggests polish, Terrible Feelings's live show is much more raw, energetic and primitive in all of the best ways. Comparisons to Masshysteri seem appropriate. Shame on me for not knowing better, considering some of the punk rock company they keep.
If you missed the show, make sure and catch this highly-energetic punk-garage/power-pop band at Acheron on June 30th with another punk-leaning bill: Mutant Genes, Nuclear Spring and Sad Boys.
Mor eictures from Death By Audio are below.
Reunited crust greats Antisect completed their first US tour with a show at Europa last night (6/10), a tour that kicked off in California included a stop at Chaos in Tejas. Europa's bill was rounded out by Boston crust-doomers Morne, ripping Brooklyn punks Perdition, and Death First (who I missed). Pictures from the last three sets are below.
If you stopped by the show, hopefully you made a trip to the merch table. Antisect was offering their freshly recorded 4 Minutes Past Midnight/Out From The Void (Part 2) Tour 10" that night, their first studio recordings in 17 years.

DOWNLOAD: Terrible Feelings - "Intruders" (MP3)
After a string of 7" and EP releases, Terrible Feelings are preparing to release their debut LP Shadows via Deranged Records/Double Sun Recordings. The Swedish band, which toils in garage punk-infused power pop, have released a new video for "Intruders" from the effort and you can view that clip below. Look for Shadows in the US in mid-April via Deranged on vinyl and on CD via Double Sun.
Catch Terrible Feelings on the road on the East Coast this summer including TWO NYC dates: Death By Audio on June 19th with Death First and Acheron on June 30th with Sad Boys, Nuclear Spring and Mutant Genes.
More details on both shows are on the way and their full tour routing is listed below, but they need more help. If you can help with a show, send an email to freewheelbooking at gmail. All current tour dates, that "Intruders" video and streams of previous material. below....
We previously discussed Antisect's reunion and US appearance at Chaos in Tejas 2012 along with a list of tentative tour dates and cities, but now comes more details including an NYC stop at Europa on June 10th (NYC is no longer scheduled on June 9th). Tickets are on sale for the Brooklyn show that will also feature Morne (who released one of my favorite LPs from last year), Perdition and Death First.
Meanwhile, as previously mentioned, Death First will hit Acheron on Saturday (1/7) with the mighty No Statik, Natural Law, and Deathrats. No Statik have the new "No Hospice"/"Clean Swift Sunshine" 7" out via Prank Records. Get your copy.

Omegas @ ABC No Rio - 12/17/11
Even without Citizens Arrest, Omegas/Mind Eraser/Night Birds/Death First at a space as small as ABC No Rio is an exciting prospect. So even though cXa cancelled their appearance at ABC No Rio on Saturday due to illness, it was still quite a formidable bill at the sunsetting-and-reopening venue, a benefit for the space. Here are some pictures from the show (though we unfortunately missed Inflatable Children and Death First - mem Grudges/Ruin Lust)
Check out Brian from Night Birds' favorite LPs of 2011 HERE. Check out more pictures from ABC No Rio and some videos, below...
Omegas at 538 Johnson (more by Keith Marlowe)
*** We regret to announce that Citizens Arrest will not be performing at ABC NO RIO this Saturday (12/17). Daryl has contracted a serious case of pneumonia and obviously, can not perform. We have been replaced by the OMEGAS. We apologize to any of you who have made extensive plans to see us. The show will still go on and the lineup is still stellar and worth your time. Remember it is a benefit for ABC NO RIO!***At least their replacement is the great Omegas who also play 538 Johnson with The Boston Strangler, Creem and In School later that night and whose Blasts of Lunacy was one of my favorite records of 2011.
No word on how Daryl's sickness will affect Funebrarum's appearance at the Acheron/Gorephobia/Mutant Supremacy show at Saint Vitus later that night, but we'll keep you posted.
UPDATE: Funebrarum cancels their Acheron appearance as well.
Get well soon Daryl!
Citizens Arrest at Europa (more by Keith Marlowe)
"Joe Martin, who played in Citizens Arrest during ABC No Rio's early days, remembers the space as offering a second chance. "For me, I had made the promise to myself that I would stop going to hardcore shows the day I got beat up. And then it happened to me, at one of the hardcore matinees they had--Judge, Born Against, and Affirmative Action. Some skinhead picked a fight with me and maybe I didn't get beat up, but I did get punched. So I said, that was it, no more, because I knew everytime I would go to a show from then on, I'd see this guy and panic and run away. But then ABC started, and right then and there, that feeling stopped. Every week I'd go there, I didn't care who was playing--I'd go support any band, and I guess for a while a lot of other people did too. There'd be a solid 50 people for every show."" [ABC No Rio history]Citizens Arrest will play ABC No Rio again on 12/17/2011, their first time since 1991! Joining them is the all-star lineup of Mind Eraser, Night Birds, The Inflatable Children and Death First at what will one of the last shows in the old ABC No Rio space. It's also a benefit for the the organization which will get a new building in 2012 (we don't have an exact close date yet). $10 gets you in the door. No advanced tickets.
Other upcoming shows at ABC No Rio include Japanther with The Homewreckers, Devestation Wagon, TitFit on 10/29, Boom Boom Kid, Wud Link, Ilegales Sin Fronteras, and Mi Culpa on 11/5, Wound, Skelptarsis, Kama Rupa, and (A)Truth on 11/12,Miscegnator, Coke Bust, DBCR, Sick Fix on 11/19 (Coke Bust play later that night with Masakari at Acheron), Tombs & Inhuman on 12/3, and Mischief Brew, The Swaggerin' Growlers and more TBA on 12/10.
Japanther, who played CMJ last week at Party Xpo and DROM on 10/21, has one other date scheduled before the end of the year, on 12/2 in Troy, NY at EMPAC as part of a "commissioned performance piece."
As previously mentioned, members of Mind Eraser will hit Acheron next week (on 11/3) as part of The Rival Mob, with appearances from Young Offenders, Give, and Airfix Kits.

The crowd goes wild for Mob 47 @ Europa
Mob 47 and Parasytic played Europa on Wednesday (11/10) as part of a string of dates for the pair and part of a larger East Coast tour for Mob 47. The nutty Crazy Spirit and Nomad both also played the Brooklyn show. Pictures are in this post.
If you missed the show, unfortunately your window to catch Parasytic, Crazy Spirit, and Nomad has closed. But luckily, as mentioned yesterday, Mob 47 will play 538 Johnson TONIGHT (11/13) as part of a bill that will include all of the bands at ABC No Rio today at 3PM (Punch, Loma Prieta, Vaccine, & Death First) in addition to Passive Aggressor.
