Beyonce @ Superbowl XLVII (via Kayla)
Beyonce used all manner of explosions, smoke machines, fire, LEDs, back-up dancers, not to mention her old bandmates, Destiny's Child, to add zazz to her bombastic Super Bowl XLVII Halftime show (2/3). You can watch the entire performance below. Look closely for Beyonce's alleged flash of the Illuminati symbol (above) that's causing all the rage on twitter, though those that don't believe in conspiracy theories will probably just tell you that her husband Jay-Z throws that up to symbolize Roc-A-Fella, like on his The Dynasty: Roc La Familia LP art, the cover of his Fade to Black movie, and in countless videos and live shows.
Superfans who missed the show are in luck, though. Beyonce has announced a massive set of dates called the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour that will kick off in Serbia and head back to North America during a second leg this summer. The tour comes to a close in Brooklyn on August 3 at Barclays Center. Tickets go on sale Monday, Feb 11 at 10 AM. Maybe this is a sign that her new album will be announced soon?
A list of all tour dates, the video of the half-time show, and the damning signs of the Illuminati during the Destiny's Child performance are below...

Justin Timberlake made his live return after a five-year absence from the stage at a DirecTV party in New Orleans last night (2/2) and brought out Jay-Z for his verse on JT's new single, "Suit and Tie." You can watch a video of that below. Since Justin's in New Orleans, it's looking like there's a chance that he too will come on stage with Beyonce tonight? If he does, hopefully things go better than last time JT played the Super Bowl.
Also look for The Flaming Lips' Hyundai commercial during the game.
You can also catch Andrew WK doing his own halftime show at Santos.
And all Super Bowl excitement aside, have you listened to the new My Bloody Valentine album? If not, you can stream each track below.

Andrew WK at Webster Hall in 2012 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Super Bowl XLVII is around the corner (February 3), and you already know that in between the Ravens taking on the 49ers and all the (hopefully) funny commercials, Beyonce is playing the halftime show and she'll also be bringing out her reunited Destiny's Child for a portion of it.
But if you're in NYC and seeing Beyonce on TV isn't your thing, you can head to Santos Party House to watch the game and catch venue owner Andrew WK performing live during halftime. That show also includes MC Todd and Aleister X and tickets are on sale now, and include a free drink (so needless to say, admission is 21+) and Roberta's pizza (not free).
Andrew WK has a few other dates coming up, including a solo set at Skate and Surf Festival in New Jersey, and all of those are listed below...
If it is true that Beyonce did lip-sync at Monday's inauguration, she wouldn't be the first artist to perform that way at a major national event. Here are a few examples:Maybe Beyonce (and the rest of Destiny's Child) will lip sync at the Superbowl too.
* In 1991, Whitney Houston lip-synced her iconic interpretation of "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl.
* Oscar-winner and former "American Idol" contestant Jennifer Hudson did the same thing with the anthem at the Super Bowl in 2009.
* Faith Hill also performed to a backing track for "America The Beautiful" at the same event in 2009.
* At President Obama's first inauguration in 2009, Yo-Yo Ma's performance came into question over "hand syncing." The acclaimed cellist had said the instruments weren't working properly in the very cold weather.
There were even reports that speculated Madonna was lip-syncing during her appearance at the 2012 Super Bowl half-time show. "The only thing Madonna proved during the Super Bowl 46 show is her irrelevance; the halftime show was so obviously lip synced that it was painful," wrote SBNation's JP Starkey. [CBS]

Not to turn into Perez Hilton or anything, but the same day we get the news that Justin Timberlake, another pop star who actually puts out great music, is releasing new material, Beyonce announced on facebook that Destiny's Child have recorded their first original song in eight years and Pharrell produced it. The song will appear on Love Songs, the upcoming Destiny's Child compilation which is due out on January 29 via Sony Legacy and can be pre-ordered now. The tracklist is below.
In related news, Beyonce, who is about to perform at the Super Bowl on February 3, but not until after she sings the National Anthem at President Obama's inauguration ceremony on January 21, said in an interview with GQ that she'll have her new album out "as early as April" and will go on a world tour in support of it. The album may or may not include her rumored sequel to her collaboration with Lady Gaga, "Telephone." (And that song may or may not also feature Azealia Banks.)
The album will follow 2011's 4, much of which saw Beyonce stripping back her sound and pulling more from '70s soul than contemporary R&B, but it also contained "Countdown," which is up there as one of Beyonce's greatest pop singles, and just one of the greatest pop singles of recent years in general.
The video for "Countdown" and the video for Destiny's Child's "Survivor" below...
The Faint at Webster Hall in 2009 (more by Tim Griffin)
The Faint are currently on tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album Danse Macabre. The party hits NYC on Friday (12/7) at Terminal 5 with Toronto's Trust and Icky Blossoms opening the show. Tickets are still available.
If you've read the site over the last week or so, you probably know we've been asking a lot of bands and artists to contribute year-end Top 10s (like Animal Collective who play Terminal 5 twice this week), and here we've got ones from both The Faint and Trust. The Faint did a collective list of favorite LPs and were only able to whittle it down to 12, including albums by Liars, Actress, Twin Shadow, Grimes (who did a list for us too) as well as both of their current tourmates. Check out the full list below.
As for Trust, main man Robert Alfons lists his 10 favorite tracks of 2012 and the top three spots all go to the same artist. Any guesses who? Don't forget that Trust will DJ late night at Glasslands on Friday (12/7) after their T5 show. Black Marble will play live and tickets are still available.
The Faint and Trust's 2012 Top 10 lists are below.
