Caveman at Webster Hall in April (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
As you probably know by now, CMJ starts today, and local indie pop band Caveman are doing a number of shows for it this year, and all of them (at least what's currently announced) are free.
The band will start their CMJ run today (10/15) at Rockwood Music Hall for a Communion-presented show with U.S. Royalty, Tor Miller, and Duologue. The show's totally free. Set times below.
They play another Communion show on Friday (10/18) at Henry, A Liquor Bar (356 W 58 St). This one's an all-acoustic show, and features stripped down sets from Caveman, along with Bad Suns and James Bay. Also free, and RSVP is open now. Caveman's on at 8:30 PM, and the full schedule is below.
Then, they'll play a free Bowery Presents showcase that next day (10/19) at Pianos with Drowners, Clear Plastic Masks, Landshapes, Eagulls, Bear Mountain, Spires, Most Thieves, Kodaline, Jacco Gardner, and Kan Wakan.
And then finally they'll play a Wild Honey Pie showcase at Cameo on Saturday (10/19) with Empress Of, French Horn Rebellion, Joywave, Hockey, Little Daylight, TV Girl, Belle Mare, Highs, Wilsen, How Sad, and Deidre & The Dark. Free tickets are available.

Moon King at Cameo - 9/15/12
The Hundred in the Hands played their last NYC show for a while -- before they head out on a European tour next month -- at Cameo Gallery on Saturday (9/15). The show was with Doldrums related project Moon King (aka Daniel Woodhead, Maddy Wilde and their live band), who released their impressive Obsession I EP last month. Pictures from Saturday's show are in this post.
The show was one of three in NYC for Moon King this month. They also played Big Snow on Friday (9/14) and will be at Pianos on Tuesday (9/18) with Tropic of Pisces, Neighbors, and Cookies. Tickets for that show are still available. Moon King will also be back in town for CMJ this October. It hasn't been announced what shows they'll play yet, but we do know that Doldrums, who open for Austra at their sold out MHOW show this Wednesday (9/19), will play the Windish showcase at Mercury Lounge on October 17 with Hundred Waters, Strange Talk, High Highs, Duologue, Mozart's Sister, and DIANA. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (9/21) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (9/19) at noon.
More pics from the Cameo show and an updated list of Moon King dates are below.
