Singer-songwriter Paul Simon said Monday that he and wife Edie Brickell "had an argument" before they were arrested Saturday.Yay!
Brickell, in a statement sent to CNN by her lawyer, said she started it.
"I got my feelings hurt and I picked a fight with my husband," Brickell said. "The police called it disorderly. Thank God it's orderly now"
Simon and Brickell were arrested on disorderly conduct charges by police investigating a family dispute at their New Canaan, Connecticut, home Saturday night, according to police. "Investigating officers gathered information and found probable cause to arrest" Simon, 72, and Brickell, 47, a police statement said.
The couple was released from custody Sunday morning.
They held hands when appearing before a judge in the Norwalk Superior Court Monday.
"Edie and I are fine," Simon said. "We're going to see our son's baseball game this afternoon."

Singers Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell were arrested over the weekend in Connecticut after police investigated a "family dispute," the New Canaan Police Department said.It was initially reported that Simon had been arrested on domestic violence charges but that has since been clarified as "disorderly conduct" for both. Neither he or Brickell -- who have been married since 1992 and have three children together -- were taken into custody.

Witty banjo enthusiast Steve Martin and his band The Steep Canyon Rangers are releasing a collaborative album with onetime new bohemian Edie Brickell (remember "What I Am"?). The record, titled Love Has Come for You, will be out April 23.
Martin, Brickell, and The Steep Canyon Rangers will the tour the album later this year, including a stop in NYC at Town Hall on June 25 and tickets for that show go on sale February 1 at 11 AM.

"Iron and Wine kind of blew it last night. When an artist goes for a sound more or less the polar opposite of the one that made them famous, they better bring their A game. Sufjan did it last year, sadly Iron and Wine did not. Bloozy sax rock is not where its at man. 75 minute sets at a sold out Radio City at 50 a ticket aint too great either. That said, some of the new stuff was great, and the Trapeze encore was wonderful." Iron & Wine kick off a US tour on Saturday (11/13) with a show in St Louis at The Pageant. It's a short trip that will be followed by a two month break. Post-break, Samuel Beam and band will play two big US album release shows before heading to Europe for a tour. Those two 2011 US shows are January 26th at The Wiltern in LA with the Low Anthem, and January 29th at Radio City Music Hall with Edie Brickell. Tickets for the NYC show go on AMEX presale Wednesday, 11/10, at 11am, and then go on regular sale Friday at 11am.
Iron & Wine's new LP, Kiss Each Other Clean, will be released on January 25th (one day before the LA show) via Warner Brothers (and 4AD in Europe, Japan, and Australia). And,
Kiss Each Other Clean's opening track, "Walking Far From Home," will be released on 12" vinyl and as a CD single that is sold exclusively through independent retailers in conjunction with "Back to Black Friday" on November 26th, in which independent record stores will be the only source for several exclusive new releases across the country."Back To Black Friday" is a new initiative by the people behind Record Store Day. Basically they'll be releasing exclusive records now on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving/the businest shopping day of the year) in addition to on Record Store Day which takes place in April.
