Did you get free tickets for GoogaMooga the other day? The promoters posted the following message:
Early Registration GoogaMooga Festival is Now Full - More to ComeThey also say that "Customers who received a confirmation message, but who did not yet receive an email with confirmation of your registration, should be receiving an email shortly," and $267 "Extra Mooga" tickets are still on sale.
General admission early registration for the GoogaMooga Festival is now full. There will be more tickets released in the coming weeks. Check www.GoogaMooga.com regularly for more information regarding additional allotments of tickets.
As the official ticketing company for Googa Mooga, we [Eventbrite] are committed to offering a smooth, pain-free ticketing experience for event attendees and organizers. We failed on that [Thursday], and apologize to GoogaMooga fans and the event organizers. While there were people who were successful in securing early registration for GoogaMooga, due to high demand and some serious technical problems, our ticketing page was unavailable to many who were trying to register for the event.
We are working together with the GoogaMooga event organizers to take care of everyone who was trying to get tickets today and fulfill all pending registration requests.
Please keep an eye on GoogaMooga.com for information on additional ticket availability. We'll also be sending posts via Twitter and Facebook when these tickets are available.
Still no word on what bands are playing.

The Hold Steady/Caveman @ Beekman Beer Garden
As promised, everyone who showed up with a ticket (and then some) got in no problem to our free Hold Steady/Caveman show at Beekman Beer Garden in NYC, one of five total events that happened around the country as part of Evenbrite's Concert Confidential series on Saturday night (9/17). Each of the free shows had a charity attached, and ours was VH1 Save the Music Foundation (which we raised $4295 for!).
Though we were planning for a while, the date of the show was only announced 10 days earlier with the headliner revealed just 5 days before the show, "tickets" on sale just 2 days before, and the opener revealed just 1 day before.
Thanks to everyone who helped put this together, Eventbrite, the venue, the bartenders, the weather for staying cool and dry, everyone who came by, DJ Billy Jones from New Moods for playing sweet tunes before both bands, to Caveman for a jammin' set of tunes from their just-released debut album, and to headliner The Hold Steady for a raucous almost-2-hour set that never got boring (as usual). Check out their full setlist and more pictures from the whole show below...
Free tickets will become available tonight at midnight (or on 9/15 @ 12:01am - however you want to think about it) for our 9/17 Hold Steady show at Beekman Beer Garden (at the South Street Seaport). The show is free, but it's also ticketed (think of it as an RSVP), and it's a charity event (optional). In the words of show sponsor Eventbrite (they are in the ticket business hence the free "tickets"):
We are partnering up with VH1's Save the Music to celebrate their work in the music community. We will be taking donations at the event using our brand new iPad app, Eventbrite At The Door. Because as much as we love rocking out, we love giving back more! Anyone who donates $10+ will receive a free Concert Confidential T-shirt! Save the Music helps to restore instrumental music education programs, ensuring that every child has access to a complete education that includes the benefits of music instruction.Donations at this event are completely optional, so in order to raise a bit more money for the charity, we are also now offering an extremely limited number of $15 tickets that will get you guaranteed/front of line access. "Doors" to the event are at 6pm. Opener at 8. Hold Steady at 9.
Why did I put "doors" in quotes? Because the beach part of Beekman Beer Garden will be open and serving drinks and food from noon on Saturday. Feel free to get there even earlier. The view is top notch. The tickets will start to be collected at 6pm though, and that's when the entire venue will open up. Get there early to guarantee you get in. If you get there at 8:45 with a ticket hoping to slip in right in time to see the headliner, we may be at capacity. Stay tuned to the @BrooklynVegan twitter for updates during the day, and stay tuned for our 2nd band announcement coming soon.
Why does the above picture say "5 Cities"? BrooklynVegan teamed with Eventbrite to put together this NYC show, but Eventbrite also has four other similar free shows happening on the same night in four other cities including Wavves in LA and Freelance Whales in Chicago. More info and RSVP links HERE.
UPDATE: In the name of trees, you don't need to print your ticket if you have a smart phone that can pull up the ticket. Try it at home before you get there. If you can open it so the people at the door can scan the bar code on your phone, then that works too, BUT make sure you have ID (which you need to get in anyway) too.
Eventrbrite and BrooklynVegan have teamed up to present a very special free show somewhere in NYC on September 17th. More details will be announced closer to the date including how to get free tickets. Stay tuned.
