Deiphago at Maryland Deathfest in May (more by Fred Pessaro)
Filipino three-man black/death horde Deiphago are coming to terrorize the east coast for a few days this week, starting with a date in New Jersey before landing at Union Pool on Friday 12/13 with Obeisance and Inverted Trifixion. No advance tickets for this show, so grab 'em out the door before steeling yourself for some brutality. Deiphago was last this way in May when they stormed Maryland Deathfest, and Saint Vitus in Brooklyn a few days later. Did you go?
The evil trifecta of Deiphago, Obeisance and Inverted Trifixion will also be sharing the stage at Satan's Unholy Abomination Fest II in Hyattsville, MD, a two-day event with Disma, Engorge, Mausoleum, Sathanas, Hellgoat, Satanik Goat Ritual and many more. DC's Damaged City Fest has been announced for middle April, with some overlap of bands scheduled for NYC's punk fiesta New York's Alright. Look for names like Culo, Coke Bust, Double Negative, Dropdead, No Tolerance (who's members play with Rival Mob soon), Negative Approach, Night Birds, Prisoner Abuse, Tenement and many many more. Full lineup for the festival, scheduled to take place at long-time DIY space St. Stephen's Church on April 12 and 13, is below. Tickets are on sale.
Speaking of Wisconsin band Tenement, look for them to hit Grand Victory on April 11 with touring partners Night Birds, Marvin Berry & The New Sound and Dipers. Tickets are on sale. Stream a few Tenement songs, including their split with Culo, below.
In other news, Night Birds are prepping a new split for Fat Wreck Chords. Look for the four-song EP Maimed for the Masses via the label on May 7, with the title track providing a primer for the band's forthcoming LP Born To Die In Suburbia due on Grave Mistake this summer.
In more punk news, for a taste of what' you're in for at New York's Alright 2013, head to 285 Kent tonight (2/1) where Who Killed Spikey Jacket? will team with Sad Boys, Perdition, Goosebumps and Murderer. Four of the five bands scheduled for tonight will perform at the festival which happens in April.

While we wait for the Maryland Deathfest lineup to expand, one of those bands have slipped past the goalie! Rorschach will play Maryland Deathfest
and will presumably be announced with their final batch of artists in the coming weeks. Final bands announced! and they are: AGALLOCH, ARCHGOAT (Finland), BRUJERIA (Mexico), YOB, BLACK WITCHERY, DYING FETUS, UNANIMATED (Sweden), MORGION, RORSCHACH, NEEDFUL THINGS (Czech Republic), DIE PIGEON DIE (Australia), and EXTERMINATION ANGEL.
Show No Mercy returns with an interview and a new song from Leviathan. The interview is short and Whitehead doesn't exactly delve deep, but it and the song are both definitely worth a listen.
Vanishing Leper is Justin Detore (Mind Eraser/Rival Mob/Righteous Jams etc) and Jordan Darby (Dry-Rot), and the band is currently streaming a new EP and are preparing it for a limited release on Cold Vomit. Listen below.
