FACT

FACT published their 50 Best Albums of 2015 list and as always, it's one of the more unique lists of the year. It's loaded with high-quality electronic music, rap, R&B, indie, pop, and more, and you're almost guaranteed to find something on it you haven't heard of. It ranges from the Simon Cowell-assembled girl group Fifth Harmony to the underground New York rapper Junglepussy, and includes plenty of the in-between. Kendrick Lamar and Grimes are here, but they come in at the mere #3 and #5, respectively. Their #1 is a very unexpected pick, but a great album nonetheless (and one that does deserve some more love).

"Excuse the positivity, but was something in the water this year? 2015 felt like the best year for albums in a while," their intro begins. Read what else FACT have to say here and check out the whole list below...

FACT

The best-of 2014 albums lists continue with FACT, who always put out an interesting list and this year is no exception. You've got a few of the year-end list regulars like FKA twigs, Angel Olsen, Ariel Pink, Grouper, YG, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib and Shabazz Palaces, but also a handful of obscurer rap, electronic and experimental choices. FACT's list is always a good one to find something you missed during the year that you end up falling in love with, so check it out. Also, it's the first list we've seen where Sun Kil Moon beats The War On Drugs! (who actually aren't on here at all).

Check out their top 50 below. You can read more about it here, and also check out some of their other year end coverage like top tracks, mixtapes, reissues, cassettes, mixes and more.

Kendrick Lamar

FACT is still one of the best sources for cutting edge electronic music, and I always look forward to their top 50 albums of the year list, which they've just published for 2012. As usual, it doesn't only contain electronic albums.

This year's list has a good deal of indie rap (Haleek Maul, Schoolboy Q, Le1f, Main Attrakionz, Spaceghostpurrp) and it's the only non-metal list I've seen so far with Black Breath's Sentenced to Life (!). And of course, to compliment the dancefloor records, it's got its fair share of electronic-tinged indie pop, forward thinking R&B, and outsider experimental music.

Check out the full list below.
