Jeff Tandy, creator of the above photo, writes:

"I'm calling you out, Hunt-Hendrix! I'll be at Martyrdoom Fest in Brooklyn on June 30, 2012. I hate you. I hate what you do. Come down and we'll fight!... I will feed you all the Brooklyn sidewalk you can eat, HHH. I'll show you the side of black metal you don't have the fortitude or will to explore. Seriously, I will fuck you up."

The above challenge was issued to the the Liturgy frontman in a Facebook group called "Hunter Hunt-Hendrix, come fight me." The creator, Jeff Tandy of Birth A.D., Averse Sefira and an ex-live member of Krieg, is not making his feelings about the Liturgy frontman secret, though it's hard to take the group completely seriously with photos like the one above. I hope it's not real though. Exerting your energy into bands you don't like takes away from finding bands that you do.

Though Jeff Tandy will be there, neither Jeff nor Hunter will be performing at the Martyrdoom Festival on June 30th at Public Assembly. Tickets are still available (no word on whether Hunter plans to attend).

Hunter will be performing at Metallica's Orion Festival in June though... along with bands like (?!?) Modest Mouse and Arctic Monkeys.

"Holy shit!" - Trent Reznor

"Oscar winning Indian musician A.R. Rahman lost out the Golden Globe in the Original Score category to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who won for their music in The Social Network.

The 45-year-old musician was up for his second Golden Globe for the Danny Boyle film 127 Hours and had just a day earlier bagged the best original song trophy at the 16th Critics' Choice Awards for his number 'If I Rise' from the film.

The musician who had won his first Golden Globe in 2009 for another of the British director's film, Slumdog Millionaire, is in the running for his second Oscar with the song, which is collaboration between him and British popstar Dido.

"A year ago I had no idea I'd have the opportunity to score a film. The idea of standing up here to accept this award is surreal," said Reznor, who is the frontman of the rock group 'Nine Inch Nails', in his acceptance speech." [The Hindu]

Trent's next soundtrack conquest will be "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" (which is appropriate since Lisbeth Salander (the girl with the tattoo) is probably a Nine Inch Nails fan. Trent recently revealed that information in a NY Times "TimesTalks" event where he was interviewed by music critic Jon Pareles. You can watch most of it in the videos below...

We Will Resume

I am very pleased to confirm that we will resume at Luxembourg this coming Friday (5 June), absorbed and collected. I have been reconstructed by a Wiltshire hospital and I am as close to good health as I'm likely to get.

I apologize to everyone caught up in the to-ing and fro-ing, but the disappointment of postponement is less than the disappointment of hearing me sing on one engine.

I should stress that nothing has been canceled. The four London concerts are repositioned in July, and both Birmingham and the Royal Albert Hall are October fixtures. I've endured a titanic struggle against an intolerable virus lately, and although Hull, Hartlepool and Manchester were nights that comprised a whole life, the physical limits were reached. False notes crush the soul.

Besides Luxembourg and beyond, I am excited about the October release of Swords, which is an 18-track compilation of b-side of singles from the last three albums. This will be a Polydor release.

Thanks to everyone who bought 'Years of Refusal'. We were the number one seller in the UK for the week of release, but, as with 'You Are The Quarry' and 'Your Arsenal', we were booted off the number one spot on the last hour of the final day. We cried.

I would like to point out that some passable creature is using my name and sending sharply chiseled replies to people via Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. This person is not me. Not enough happens in my life that I would wish to share it with others. I do not scan these sites - or whatever they are - so I can only hope that whoever is posing as me is at least worth talking to. Beware of false imitations.
