Bonobo sold out Terminal 5 in 2013 (more by Adela Laconte)
The mostly-EDM electronic music festival Electric Zoo (not to be confused with Electric Daisy Carnival which just happened) announced the initial lineup earlier this month, and have now announced a ton more artists who are playing their Labor Day weekend NYC festival on Randall's Island (tip: avoid at all costs). Check out who they announced, by day and stage, below.
New on the lineup is DJ set by Bonobo whose growing tour also includes Glastonbury, The Hudson Project fest, a DJ set tour with FaltyDL, and a headlining live show at Central Park Summerstage on July 13 (free). All dates are listed below.
His set at E Zoo is at the least unbearable stage announced so far, the Riverside stage on Friday (8/29) which also includes Gesaffelstein (DJ), Jamie xx, Gorgon City, Tensnake and more.
The Summerstage show is with Bonobo's July tourmate Odesza, as well as Cibo Matto who will play Warm Up at MoMA PS1 one day earlier. Those are Cibo Matto's only two U.S. shows at the moment. They recently played in Brooklyn Bridge Park. All of their international dates are listed below.
Last we talked about FaltyDL, we had a preview of a new track off a new album. It was only a clip and not great quality though. That full song and album details have since been released, and you can listen to that song with those details below.
All dates, the FaltyDL song, the Electric Zoo lineup and more, below...
Jamie xx w/ The xx in Austin in 2013 (more by Tim Griffin)
It was recently announced that NYC EDM festival Electric Zoo would be returning this year with drug-sniffing dogs, patdowns, plainclothes security officers, and a required anti-drug PSA after last year's festival resulted in two drug-related deaths (and one reported case of sexual assault and 31 arrests) which cancelled day 3.
Now the initial lineup has been announced and amongst all the EDM heavy hitters is The xx's Jamie xx. Other than that, it's the typical E Zoo type stuff you probably want to steer clear of like David Guetta, Zedd, Armin Van Buuren, Laidback Luke, Kaskade, Benny Benassi, Datsik, and more, plus many more TBA. They've been known to add cool stuff as the fest approaches, so stay tuned.
Electric Zoo goes down Labor Day Weekend (8/29-31) on Randall's Island. Tickets are on sale now. Full initial lineup below...
