You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...
Whirr, Adventures, Makthaverskan @ Baby's All Right
This show is stacked from start to finish with three diverse bands signed to or affiliated with Run For Cover Records. There's Swedish post-punks Makthaverskan playing their second NYC show ever (their first was Monday), the punk/indie rippers Adventures (ft. 3/4 of Code Orange), and finally the wall-of-sound shoegazers Whirr.
Arca @ Bowery Ballroom
Arca initially came from NYC's forward-thinking underground electronic scene, but his profile has significantly risen thanks to collaborations with Kanye West, Bjork and FKA twigs, and his recent solo album on Mute. Tonight's show is sold out.
There's also an afterparty at Elvis Guesthouse with Arca, Dutch E Germ, Ian Isiah, Sadaf (DJ) and a special guest.
Jose Gonzalez, Olaf Arnalds @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
We've gotten a lot of great hushed, bare-bones folk albums in 2015, and Jose Gonzalez's new one, Vestiges & Claws (his first solo album since 2007), is no exception to this. Tonight's his first of two sold-out NYC shows on his tour with Icelandic folk singer Olof Arnalds.
The Sonics, Barrence Whitfield and the Savages @ Irving Plaza
Seattle garage punk progenitors The Sonics just released their first new album in almost 50 years and has them pretty much picking up where they left off. They play Asbury Park tomorrow.
Big Terrific @ Cameo Gallery
This long-running free comedy series, hosted by soon-to-be Bravo cooking competition host Max Silvestri, is coming to an end at the end of the month, so don't be surprised if there are extra special guests at the remaining shows.
Nothing Changes w/ Cervello Elettronico, Theologian @ Home Sweet Home
Tonight's edition of goth/industrial/darkwave/etc party Nothing Changes features live sets from Californian industro-IDM producer Cervello Elettronico, and NYC power electronics outfit Theologian. Expect late late times, high volume and lots of smoke machines.
Empire Records 20th anniversary celebration (aka Rex Manning Day) @ Rough Trade
For the 20th anniversary of beloved '90s movie Empire Records, Williamsburg record store/music venue Rough Trade NYC will turn into the Empire Records store from the movie for three days (this being the first). It's an immersive experience, which includes a Rex Manning autograph, a head-shaving station, a live band and DJ each night (tonight it's ARMS and ADVENTURE[s], respectively), a screening of the film, and more. And perhaps most excitingly, GWAR (who make a cameo in the film) will appear at all three nights. All are sold out.
Fletcher C. Johnson, Divers, Big Eyes, Friend @ Palisades
It's a good show all around with two garage rockers, the Burger-signed Fletcher C Johnson and Portland, OR's Divers, and indie-punks Big Eyes.
Rioux, Dadas @ Union Pool
Brooklyn producer Erin Rioux will release his new EP, 'Evolver,' next month. If you dig Caribou, and other live band electronic acts, Rioux are worth investigating.
Gesaffelstein (DJ Set), Flat White @ Output
Arca's not the only Yeezus contributor in NYC tonight. French producer Gesaffelstein is also hear to DJ Output. Tickets at door.
Chet Faker, XXYYXX @ Terminal 5
Chet Faker headlines this show, and if you're going we recommend showing up for XXYYXX too. It's the final night of three, and sold out.
Greg Barris, Bridey Elliot, Mike Pomranz @ Union Hall
This is a premiere party for Greg Barris' new comedy web series Roommates but will include live performances as well.

Check out who they announced, by day and stage, below.
New on the lineup is DJ set by Bonobo whose growing tour also includes Glastonbury, The Hudson Project fest, a DJ set tour with FaltyDL, and a headlining live show at Central Park Summerstage on July 13 (free). All dates are listed below.

Jamie xx w/ The xx in Austin in 2013 (more by Tim Griffin)
It was recently announced that NYC EDM festival Electric Zoo would be returning this year with drug-sniffing dogs, patdowns, plainclothes security officers, and a required anti-drug PSA after last year's festival resulted in two drug-related deaths (and one reported case of sexual assault and 31 arrests) which cancelled day 3.
Now the initial lineup has been announced and amongst all the EDM heavy hitters is The xx's Jamie xx. Other than that, it's the typical E Zoo type stuff you probably want to steer clear of like David Guetta, Zedd, Armin Van Buuren, Laidback Luke, Kaskade, Benny Benassi, Datsik, and more, plus many more TBA. They've been known to add cool stuff as the fest approaches, so stay tuned.

White Lung at Fun Fun Fun Fest 2013 (more by Tim Griffin)
It's year-end list season and though all White Lung really have in the way of eligible releases is their recent 7", 2013 has really been a breakout year for them. So we asked them what new albums they were listening to this year, and guitarist Kenny William contributed a top 10 list that shifts between dark rap, heavy punk, goth, experimental soundscapers and more. Check out the full thing below.
White Lung have done a ton of touring this year, and though their schedule is almost empty at the moment, before the year ends the Vancouver punk band will return to NYC for a stacked show at NYU's E&L Auditorium on Thursday (12/5) with Ceremony, Perfect Pussy, and Sleepies. That show is free for students and $5 at the door for the general public.

We're still waiting til Tuesday (6/18) for one of the most anticipated albums of the year -- Kanye West's Yeezus -- to drop, but something tells us it may have surfaced on the internet a little early. Assuming what going around is the final version of the album, it's pretty consistent with Kanye's mini-rant at Governors Ball about not caring about the radio anymore; this is some of his most anti-commercial music yet. Rather than the lush string/horn arrangements he used on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the melodic R&B-style beats of 808s and Heartbreaks or the borderline-electropop of Graduation, on Yeezus Kanye is all about dark, distorted synth maximalism. On "On Sight" those synths were reportedly worked on with Daft Punk, he's got a TNGHT (Hudson Mohawke & Lunice) track on "Blood on the Leaves," and that's Evian Christ on "I'm In It."
Update: It also includes production from Gesaffelstein, Arca and more.
He's pretty dark, lyrically, too and dominates most of the vocals on the record. Ye's been known to get heavy on the guest spots, but they're pretty low-key here. Not that they're coming from low-key people of course. The full version of "New Slaves" features Frank Ocean crooning at the end, a track called "Hold My Liquor" transitions from a Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver) hook into a Chief Keef hook, and rumor has it that "God" appears on "I Am a God." I guess he really is talking back.
Kanye also brought in outside producer/Def Jam founder Rick Rubin (who just discussed the album at length) to help him out.
What may very well be the official tracklist for the album is below. Check that out and let us know your thoughts on Yeezus.
