God Is An Astronaut (via facebook)

Irish post-rockers God Is An Astronaut kicked off a North American tour last night (8/4) in Cambridge, MA. The tour is in support of their fifth album Age of the Fifth Sun which was released last year on Revive Records. The band will play NYC tonight (8/5) at Bowery Ballroom with Monogold. Tickets are still on sale now.

The first and last time I saw Irish post-rock band God is an Astronaut was at my own (and others') SXSW Wednesday day party at Red 7 last week. A highlight of the day for sure, their big sound should have no problem filling the tiny Knitting Factory tap bar which is where they'll finish their U.S. tour in NYC tonight (March 21).
