Speaking of both SXSW and Burger Records, for those of you heading to Austin this year, the label will be all over the place, throwing shows every day with an insane ammount of bands, culminating in the annual all-day "Burgermania" at Hotel Vegas on March 15 with The Orwells, La Luz, Gap Dream, Boogarins, together Pangea, Vaadat Chagirin and literally about 20 other acts. Today, the Burger folks released the initial line-up for Burgerama III which is pretty killer if you're into the rock n' roll lifestyle the store/label has become synonymous with. Among the acts playing this year: Mac DeMarco, Death, FIDLAR, Nobunny, Gap Dream, Kool Keith (!), Allah-Las, The Orwells, The Tyde and loads more. Full lineup below.

Portland's surfy Guantanamo Baywatch have a 7" due soon via Suicide Squeeze, a split with likeminded southern-fried rockers Natural Child. The single, appropriately titled Surf N' Turf, is out December 3 but you can stream GBW's "Love This Time" below (via SPIN).
The band are currently on tour, which hits NYC this weekend for three area shows: Saturday (11/2) at Cake Shop (line-up TBA), then SUNY Purchase on Sunday (11/3) with Pupppy and The Hiya Dunes, and then they'll hit Death by Audio on Tuesday (11/5) with Hector's Pets. Dirty Fences and A Rex & J Rex.

Fullerton, CA record store/label/way-of-life Burger Records, who has somewhat cornered the market on low-fi, nasally, tongue-in-cheek powerpop/punk/garage, has been hosting Burgerama fests in California for a few years. But now they're taking the show on the road with the Burgerama Caravan of All-Stars, featuring The Growlers, Cosmonauts, Gap Dream, and Pangea. That tour includes a stop in NYC on October 5 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for that show are on sale now and all dates are listed below.
If you live in the San Francisco area, Burger is throwing a two-day festival, Burger Boogaloo, this weekend (July 6 & 7) in Oakland's Mosswood Park, featuring appearances by Jonathan Richman, Oblivians, Redd Kross, The Seros, FUZZ, Trashwomen, Audacity, Traditional Fools, Mean Jeans, Shannon & The Clams, Guantanamo Baywatch, Pangea, Gravy's Drop, Mikal Cronin, Gap Dream, Peach Kelli Pop, Wet Spots, Stompin' Riff Raffs, DJ Jonathan Toubin NY Night Train, DJ Russell Quan, MC Oscar, and more. Tickets are still available.
Many of the groups named above are featured on the label's new cassette compilation, Taste of Burger Records, which has a whopping 57 tracks. You can stream the whole thing below.
Burger's next two releases both come out on July 23. One is Love is the Law, the new album from Portland's The Memories whose folky pop is not that far from The Beets. You can stream a track off that below. The other is The Life and Times of a Paperclip, from SoCal duo The Garden and their drum-and-bass setup will probably appeal to fans of The Intelligence. You can check out the video to "I'm A Woman" below.

DOWNLOAD: Guantanamo Baywatch - Boomerenga (MP3)
Portland, OR does not have a beach but that hasn't stopped trio Guantanamo Baywatch from kicking out vintage-sounding twangy surf rock infused with a twisted sense of glee. And when it comes to a genre like this, enthusiasm counts for a lot. They are also not afraid to give a song a "cha cha cha" ending, something I secretly wish bands would do more. Their new album, Chest Crawl, out now via Dirtnap, is a good time tiki party with extra-spiked punch. You can download "Boomeranga" at the top of this post.
Guantanamo Baywatch are currently on tour and hit NYC on Wednesday, July 11 for a show at Cake Shop with local punks The Numerators. All tour dates are listed at below.
