Dan Deacon made his presence known in NYC over the weekend. Last night it was the Our Band Could Be Your Life concert at Bowery Ballroom. Saturday was a Brooklyn show at 285 Kent, and Friday was his performance as part of The American Museum of Natural History's "One Step Beyond" series. The Vivian Girls show at 285 Kent takes place four days before the space hosts green-skull-wielder Dan Deacon, who'll join Moss of Aura, Janka Nabay, and Friends (the band called "Friends"). Advance tickets for the May 21st show at 285 Kent Ave are on sale at Desert Island Books (Metropolitan Ave @ Union Ave).

The Brooklyn show is part of a three-night NYC run for Deacon who is also playing the next edition of One Step Beyond at the American Museum of Natural History on May 20th. Tickets are on sale.

May 22nd is when Dan plays Butthole Surfers covers at Bowery Ballroom as part of the sold out This Band Could Be Your Life concert.

Dan Deacon is also on board for the previously-mentioned B.O.M.B. Fest in Hartford, CT on 5/28, with Weezer, Snoop Dogg, New Pornographers, Dum Dum Girls and others.

Speaking of Janka Nabay, he'll also join The Bubu Gang for a show at Rock Shop on July 1. Tickets are on sale.

Skeletons play a benefit at Glasslands for show space ParisLondonWestNile with Mirrorgate, Nude Photo and Holy Experiment (flyer below). They play with Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog at LPR on February 2nd. Then they're at Zebulon for a BAM Sounds Like Brooklyn show with Up Died Sound.

Hesta Prynn of Northern State has gone solo. She plays a show at Pianos tonight. MP3 from her forthecoming album above.

Cale Parks has stopped going solo and is now in a trio called Brahms (who already opened for Passion Pit at Terminal 5). They plays Santos Party House tonight with Jessica 6 featuring Nomi who some thing of as the frontperson for Hercules & Love Affair.

Tonight may be the first public appearance Rufus Wainwright makes since the very recent death of his mother.

DOWNLOAD: Sean Bones - Easy Street (MP3)

Rings, the debut LP of Sean Bones, the stagename of Sean Sullivan, the guitarist for Sam Champion, is out now on Frenchkiss Records. Check out a track from that above, as well as a video for Bones' song "Dancehall" below.

Glasslands is hosting a CD release show for the album tonight (July 22nd) with a bill that includes Bones, Kuroma and Hesta Prynn. If you're reading this from 10am-12pm EST, you can also catch Sean now on East Village Radio.

Sean Bones will also be playing with The xx, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and Free Energy at the Mercury Lounge on August 7th. Tickets for that are on sale now.
