Code Orange Kids at Acheron, Nov. 2011 (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
Code Orange Kids

You'd never guess it, but Code Orange Kids have almost gone goth with their new track "VI (Worms Fear God // God Fears Youth)", part of a four-way split with Tigers JawThe World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die and Self Defense Family due tomorrow (4/23) via Run For Cover/Topshelf Records. Opening with a shimmering guitar riff, buried clean vocals and reverb galore, the song opens up into something darker/more sinister as the track progresses. Stream it below, and order your copy on digital/7" via Bandcamp or one of the labels (Top Shelf, Run for Cover).

COK have a limited number of US dates scheduled so far, but will hit The Studio at Webster Hall on May 18 & 19 as part of the Anti-Flag 20th Anniversary celebration. COK will join Hostage Calm and Worlds Scariest Police Chases on 5/18; with 5/19 featuring This is Hell, Luther and Worship This! Tickets are on sale for both nights as a package or individual shows (May 18 HERE, May 19 HERE). The band will also appear at Scion Rock Fest in addition to other dates.

All shows and that new song is below.

Andrew WK at Webster Hall in 2012 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Andrew WK

Back before Bamboozle started hitting Asbury Park (or other nearby places in NJ) every spring, the similar Skate and Surf Festival used to go down there, but hasn't been in active in eight years. Following the announcement that there will be no Bamboozle in 2013 (but they say, "keep your eyes peeled for 2014 info"), it was announced that Skate and Surf Fest is being revived this year, and will happen from May 18 to 19 at Plaza Green at iPlay America (110 Schanck Road) in Freehold, NJ.

Though we'd never turn down a solo set by Andrew WK, the rest of the lineup is not one we particularly care about, much like most of Bamboozle's lineup in years past. Other bands playing include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Saves the Day, Bayside, Into It. Over It., Hopsin, and more. Tickets go on sale Saturday (1/12).

Full lineup and flyer below...

Ian Love of EX-Rival Schools fame (more by Chris La Putt)
Rival Schools

Rival Schools will be down one pivotal member when they embark on their tour this October with Hostage Calm...

We regret to announce that our good friend Ian Love has decided to part ways with Rival Schools. He is a tremendous talent who will be missed greatly and we wish him well in his future endeavors.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will be continuing Rival Schools a pace, gearing up for our October US tour which kicks off October 14th in Philadelphia at the First Unitarian Church. We're looking forward to the new music we're working on, new recordings and the next chapter for Rival Schools.

No replacement at the moment. They'll play as a three-piece on this tour that hits The Bell House on October 27th. Tickets are still available. All dates are listed with some videos below...

Rival Schools

Just in time for an announcement of a new set of tour dates, Rival Schools have a new video in "Eyes Wide Open" from their latest LP Pedals. Check out that video, making its debut here, below.

Those new Rival Schools dates will kick off in October with fellow punks Hostage Calm, hitting Brooklyn at The Bell House on October 27th with Balance & Composure. Tickets for the NYC show are on sale. The tour ends one day later at Mexicali Live in NJ. Full schedule is below.

Those of you in Chicago for Lollapalooza (maybe you even won your tickets!) can catch the band sooner though. They play a sold-out official afterparty with the not so punk White Lies at the Double Door in Chicago on August 6th, and at the fest at 1:45 on the Playstation Stage the next day (8/7).

All tour dates and "Eyes Wide Open" are below.
