Dancepunks Death From Above 1979 returned last year with their first album since 2004, and they'll continue to tour in support of this year. This one's a bit of a surprising tour though -- they'll be opening for alt-metal bashers Deftones and, uh, Incubus. If you had to make any sense of that, there are at least a few Incubus riffs that rock kinda hard (if you can deal with Brandon Boyd's howling), but it somehow feels like there had to be a better tourmate for DFA than the band who wrote "Drive."
The tour, also with The Bots opening, hits the NYC-area on August 4 at PNC Bank Arts Center, August 5 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, and August 8 at Susquehanna Bank Center. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday, April 24 at noon with an Incubus Fan Club presale starting Monday (4/20) at noon and Live Nation/Facebook presales starting Thursday (4/23) at 10 AM.

John Lydon w/ PiL at Hammerstein in 2012 (more by Greg Cristman)
Jesus Christ Superstar, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's famous rock opera that's been around for over four decades, is returning to the road for a 50+ tour of the US and Canada in June, July and August. The tour will feature Incubus singer Brandon Boyd (as Judas Iscariot), "NSYNC's JC Chasez (as Pontius Pilate), Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams (as Mary Magdalene), and -- wait for it... Sex Pistols/Public Image Ltd. singer John "Rotten" Lydon as King Herod. It also features Britain's Ben Forster as Jesus (who has already played the role in the UK and Australian tours).
The tour comes to NYC on August 5 at Madison Square Garden. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, April 11. All dates are listed below...

When we first mentioned the lineup for this year's Bamboozle, which is taking place from May 18-20 in Asbury Park, NJ, it only included Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Blink 182, Incubus, and Mac Miller. The generally lame festival has since revealed more artists including a surprising number of not-lame artists like the reunited Promise Ring (their first East Coast date announced, hopefully an NYC show to come?), Hot Water Music, Bouncing Souls, A$AP Rocky, Action Bronson, and Murphy's Law. Take that, Warped Tour.
Tickets for Bamboozle are on sale now. Updated lineup below...
