"[Demetri] Martin, along with one of his writers, Michael Koman, whom he'd met while working on Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and an editor, Bryan Shelton, was cutting together an episode of his forthcoming show, Important Things With Demetri Martin. They needed to get the episode down to 22 minutes for its premiere on Comedy Central on February 11. They'd been at this process, on various episodes, for weeks. (When Flight 1549 went down in the Hudson River, Martin didn't know about it until he saw the plane being towed along in the river outside the building's window.) As a result, the editing suite had the slightly stale air of a missile-firing silo in which the men, bleary-eyed, have been locked together for too long, hands on the firing keys, ready to launch."Demetri Martin is kicking ass lately. The very-soon to be TV star quickly sold out his upcoming NYC shows at Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg. That of course hasn't stopped him from taking part in the culture that is NYC comedy which by that I mean making non-stop free appearances at venues like the soon-to-be-closed Sound Fix, UCB, and Pianos. Catch him tonight, for free, at Pianos - before the Ferraby Lionheart show. Details below...

David Cross (you may know him as the Crane from the movie Kung Fu Panda) is confirmed to appear with Eugene Mirman at the previously mentioned Tearing the Veil of Maya holiday show at Union Hall in Brooklyn on December 7th. Tickets are now on sale. That's one day before David appears at Knitting Factory with Marnie Stern and Fred Armisen.
Eugene Mirman is confirmed to appear at Variety Shac's Farewell to the Knit (at the Knit) on December 17th. Also on the bill: Tigers and Monkeys (a band that is often on the bill of comedy shows), Jon Glaser and Stella's Michael Showalter. Tickets are on sale.
Stella performed two shows at Union Hall this past Saturday and will be appearing at Nokia Theatre December 9th and 10th.
Demetri Martin plays UCB tonight, Monday December 1st.
ALSO TONIGHT (MONDAY): @ Pianos - It Is It (free comedy) w/ Pete Holmes, Hannibal Burress, Roger Hailes, Noah Garfinkle, and others.

Sarah Silverman @ Comic Con 2008 (veganstraightedge)

Sarah Silverman was the special guest at the free comedy show 'It Is It' at Pianos in NYC last night (August 18). Todd Barry also performed.
Todd Barry performs again tonight (August 19) - at Knitting Factory with "Variety Shac, Jim Gaffigan, Tigers & Monkeys and VERY Special guests!!". The rumor is that Sarah once again will fall into that "special guest" category.
Where will Todd Barry be on Wednesday (August 20)? He'll be performing with Sean Conroy and "VERY special guest" at UCB's free, weekly "School Night" show. Will Sarah be the guest again? Only time will tell.
Sarah's next actually-scheduled performance (aka she will definitely be there) is at Hammerstein Ballroom on November 8th - part of the New York Comedy Festival and tickets are on sale.
