Those sneaky boys in Pearl Jam tweeted the above picture and wrote "Stay tuned." We have no idea what this means, but a little detective work shows that the picture has a striking similarity to NYC subway entrances. Will they give up the road for platform busking? Perhaps they'll be doing something bigger in NYC? Gothamist points out that there's a crowdfunding campaign to get them to play Forest Hills Stadium, but Daniel Sheffer, one of the organizers behind that campaign, thinks it's more likely they're playing the Global Citizens Festival happening September 26 in Central Park. The only confirmed performer at the moment is... Ed Sheeran.
In other news, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament helped bring Browning, Montana a new skatepark. It opened this past Friday (6/26), and Jeff was in attendance. Flathead Beacon reports:
For a remote reservation town not accustomed to receiving much recognition, the Browning community hosted a monumental party at the park's official opening, with none other than Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament in attendance - not to play bass guitar with his legendary, Seattle-based rock band, but to skateboard with some new friends.Maybe this is Jeff's way of dealing with a midlife crisis?
Thunder Park was funded in large part through a $250,000 donation from Ament, who has been doling out cash for skateparks on and near reservation land all over Montana in an effort to inject active, creative outlets for young people in depressed economies.
"This all started when I was skating in St. Ignatius and I met two kids from Browning and they were just ripping," Ament said. "I asked them if they had a skatepark, and they told me about these two ramps at the bingo hall."

RNDM at Music Hall of Williamsburg - 11/2/12
Alt rock supergroup RNDM (aka Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, Joseph Arthur, and Seattle scene mainstay Richard Stuverud) released their debut album, Acts, last week (10/30) and kicked off their tour in support of the album in Brooklyn on Friday (11/2) at Music Hall of Williamsburg, a show which was fortunately unaffected by the hurricane. Pictures from that show are in this post.
For Ament, RNDM has been part of maintaining his writing and recording momentum while Pearl Jam continues to work on the follow up to "Backspacer." "If I had my druthers, we'd go in the studio every three months," Ament says. "It's just what I love. There really is a certain magic that happens when you're in the studio. And it's important in life to feel that magic, to feel that there is something greater moving all this along." [Billboard]The tour continues and comes back to NYC for a show on Thursday (11/8) at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for that show are still available. Like he did at Music Hall of Williamsburg, David Garza is supporting on all dates.
More pictures, including some of the setlist, a video from Friday's show, and RNDM's new animated video for "Throw You To the Pack" (created by Arthur), below...
RNDM is the new project of Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur (who played City Winery last night [8/27]), and Seattle scene drummer Richard Stuverud, who was previously in the band Three Fish with Jeff Ament. RNDM will release an album titled Acts on October 30, and you can stream one of its tracks, "Modern Times," over at Rolling Stone.
RNDM will support their new album with a tour this November, which kicks off in Brooklyn on November 2 at Music Hall of Williamsburg and comes back to NYC on November 8 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for both of those shows went on sale today (8/28) at noon.
Speaking of Pearl Jam, they play Philly's Made In America Festival this weekend (9/2).
Speaking of Joseh Artuhur, he recently posted a long twitter update to the case of his van which was seized and auctioned by NYC last week. His story and a list of the equipment that was in the van, along with a list of all RNDM dates, are below.
