After looking at this week's music release list (and previewing the upcoming releases through the end of 2007), I don't feel bad about releasing my favorite album list of the year later today.

Of the discs out tomorrow, I can only heartily recommend the live Damien Rice album, Live from the Union Chapel.

The Killers release a holiday single this week, Don't Shoot Me, Santa, and Fruit Tree, the four-disc Nick Drake box set is also available tomorrow.

Kiki & Herb return to Carnegie Hall on December 12th. Tickets are on sale. They're calling it "The Second Coming: A Christmas Concert". The first coming was back in 2004, was released as a CD, and featured a guest appearance by Rufus Waiwright. The song they sang together was "Those Were The Days", and you can stream it at their MySpace.

Rufus Waiwright's own recent Carnegie Hall shows are also now out on CD & DVD, and you can watch a video from that DVD, below.....

Teddy Thompson & Friends Christmas Show *A benefit concert for SaveDarfur.org* @ Highline Ballroom, NYC

December 19,2007 - Featuring performances by Teddy Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Kamila Thompson, Jenni Muldaur, Sonya Kitchell, Neal Casal, Tift Merritt, Christina Courtin & surprise guests

$35 tickets go on sale Monday November 12th @ noon. Don't expect a full performance by Rufus with that many people on the bill, but Wainwright family holidy events are always fun (not to mention all the other talented artists you'll get to hear).

And good news for all of us who never got a chance to see Rufus perform Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall...

The first night of the two-night stint at NYC ’s Carnegie Hall will now be released as the CD Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall on December 4th. The same performance at the London Palladium (February 25, 2007) makes up the DVD Rufus! Rufus! Rufus! Does Judy! Judy! Judy! Live at the London Palladium (out also on December 4th). In addition to the New York City and London shows, Wainwright also performed Garland’s Carnagie Hall concert at the Olympia in Paris, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.[mog]
