Acid Baby Jesus

Montreal's Hellshovel and Greek band Acid Baby Jesus are old buds, having met in the latter's home city of Athens in 2010 which resulted in a collaboration called Voyager 8 which you can stream below. The two bands, both on Slovenly Recordings, have similar psych-garage sounds and the joint record is pleasingly twisted. You can also stream each band's most recent LPs below as well.
Three years later, Hellshovel and Acid Baby Jesus are together again for a big North American tour which starts here in NYC with two shows: tonight (2/22) at The Bell House with The Psyched, Twin Guns, The Recordettes, The Mess-Around and WFMU's Dave the Spazz on DJ duties (tickets); and Cake Shop on Saturday (2/23) with Livids and K HOLES.
All Hellshovel/Acid Baby Jesus Dates are listed below.

Ty Segall just released a video for "Thank God for the Sinners," the stomping lead s the lead track off last year's great Twins. In the clip, he gets a hand (and a foot, and a few torsos) from some anonymous folk. Do watch to the jaw-dropping end. Video is below.
Ty hits the road this weekend for a tour with Ex-Cult that lands in NYC on February 1 at Webster Hall with Mac Demarco on the bill as well, and then the recently added Feb 2 show at Music Hall of Williamsburg that also has K-Holes playing. Tickets for both shows are still available.
Ty's added a few dates in other cities as well. His updated tour schedule and the new video, below...

Night Beats at MHOW, April 2012 (more by Joe McCabe)

Seattle's garagey Night Beats are currently on tour with Black Angels, which rolls into Chicago tonight (8/3) at Double Door which is one of the many official Lollapalooza afterparties. While this fuzzed-out double feature doesn't hit NYC, Night Beats will be here on Monday, August 6, headlining Knitting Factory. The show is with K-Holes and Mmoss. Tickets are still available. We're also giving away a pair of tickets to this show and details on how to enter are at the bottom of this post.
The tour with Black Angels wraps up Aug 11 in Little Rock, AR but Night Beats will continue on through the South West, including a free Psych Fest/Sailor Jerry show in Austin at Red 7 on August 15 with co-headliners The UFO Club (aka Christian Bland from Black Angels and Lee Blackwell from Night Beats), Fungi Girls, Cheap Curls and Holy Wave. Austin folk can RSVP for that here.
UFO Club are releasing their self titled debut LP on August 13 (preorder), the followup to last year's split with Night Beats. You can check out cover art, tracklist, a stream of album track "July," and a live video of album track "John the Cat" in this post.
