Kanye w/ TNGHT at MHOW - 11/30/12 (via Holly Liss)
TNGHT (aka Lunice and Hudson Mohawke) played Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday (11/30), their third of three shows in November (the other two were in London and Toronto). While on stage, they dropped Kanye West's track, "Cold" off of his Cruel Summer album, which Hudson Mohawke did contribute some production to (but not for that song). And though he didn't actually do much, Kanye himself came out on stage for about 20 seconds during the song to hype the crowd. You can watch a video of the appearance below (via Nah Right).
TNGHT have also recently made fans out of Flying Lotus aka Captain Murphy and Kendrick Lamar, the latter who freestyled over their track, "Higher Ground" for Gilles Peterson's BBC 6 radio show. A stream of that freestyle and the TNGHT/Kanye video, below...

Kanye at MoMA in 2011 (more by Bao Nguyen)
Kanye West came to Atlantic City's Revel Ovation Hall for two sold out shows this past July and he must have had a good time, because he plans to return to the venue for three nights right before New Year's Eve: December 28, 29, and 30. Tickets for all three nights go on sale to the general public on Friday, November 30 at noon with a Citi cardmember presale starting Tuesday (11/27) at 10 AM, and Revel and TIcketmaster presales starting Thursday, November 29 at 10 AM.
Being that Kanye only plays the three days leading up to New Year's Eve, it means that Jay-Z will potentially be available all three of the dates and Kanye will be free when Jay plays Brooklyn at Barclays Center on NYE (12/31) with Coldplay. Tickets for that show are still available.
A list of all Kanye dates and a stream of his recent track, "White Dress," from RZA's The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack, below.
The Who at Barclays Center on 11/14/12, (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)

Ticket info is on the way, but proceeds from the show will benefit the Robin Hood relief fund, and there will be a telecast.

Producer/rapper Hit-Boy (aka Chauncey Hollis), who had a breakout moment when he produced Jay-Z & Kanye West's "Niggas In Paris," has really been pushing forward since then. He released his debut mixtape, HITstory, which you can download for free at his website, earlier this year. And he then produced a few tracks on Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer, including the excellent Kanye/Jay-Z/Big Sean cut, "Clique," which is easily on par with the best moments of Watch the Throne. His own material has yet to reach the heights that he achieved on singles like "Clique" and "Niggas in Paris" but his mixtape does show a promising start, and it's a recommended listen.
Hit-Boy will be celebrating the mixtape with an eight-day HITstory tour this November, which hits NYC on November 7 at SOB's. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
A list of all dates, the tour flier, and some song streams are below.

Ben Nichols of Lucero & fans in Austin - 9/10/12 (more by Tim Griffin)
We already posted lots of posts today. Here's some more, and some reminders too...

Wondering which producers contributed to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer? Check out the updated tracklist with production credits for each song. In related news, you can check out the extended version of "New God Flow," which features Ghostface Killah, over at Pusha T's website.
by Andrew Sacher
After much delay, rumors proved true and false, and some uncertain info, Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, Cruel Summer, is fully confirmed and will be out this Tuesday (9/18). Many of its tracks -- "Clique," "Mercy," "New God Flow," "Cold" (previously titled "Theraflu"), and his guest-filled remix of Chief Keef's "I Don't Like" -- have been floating around the internet for some time now. You can stream all of those and snippets of every album track below.
Though Kanye only actually raps on about half the album, his presence is felt throughout and Cruel Summer succeeds at playing from start to finish with an album flow, despite it technically being a compilation. It opens as huge as you expect any Kanye related release to open, addressing the album not just to his fans, friends or family, but of course, "To The World." The track brings together beat master Hudson Mohawke (who's been having a great year as one half of TNGHT) with R. Kelly and Ye. It immediately follows with the album's strongest track, "Clique," which features one of the best Jay-Z verses in recent years and a towering beat from Hit-Boy, who is also behind Cruel Summer tracks "Cold," "Higher," and of course you may know him as the guy behind "Niggas In Paris."
After it continues colossally with previously released singles "Mercy" and "New God Flow," we get the first track on the album without Kanye's voice, "The Morning." However, there's no lack of all-star rappers on the track. We get killer verses from vets Pusha T, Common, and Raekwon, and if guys like Kid Cudi and 2 Chainz are your thing, well they're there too. Cudi, though not the strongest of Kanye associates, does have a shining moment on the album though. Over a clattering beat in "Creepers," he delivers a solo vocal performance making for a rare standout personal moment from not-Kanye in the midst of Ye's encapsulating ego. That's followed by "Bliss," which sees the return of Hudson Mohawke to the boards and is the album's sole track with all singing, no rapping. A distinct contrast to the hanging out and freestyling feel of the closing "I Don't Like" remix.
Streams and tracklist are below.

Jay-Z & Kanye / Passion Pit / D'Angelo at Made in America 9/2/2012
Closing out the first day of Made in America was rap legend and festival organizer Jay-Z's behemoth set. "Allow me to re-introduce myself," Jay rapped as he entered the stage, a screaming crowd of thousands joining him in every word and making clear that no introductions were necessary. Breaking the day's tradition of rappers surrounded by hype men, Jay-Z struck a dramatic pose alone on stage.Jay-Z's inaugural Made in America Festival happened Labor Day Weekend in Philadelphia and the first day (9/2) featured a wide variety of acts, including Janelle Monae, Passion Pit, Rick Ross, Dirty Projectors (who have a show coming up at Carnegie Hall) and J himself (and a few of his friends). More pictures from Sunday are below, along with Jay-Z's setlist...
His set's first surprise was a video from President Obama, who voiced his support of Made in America's patriotic vision and urged concertgoers to register to vote, a call to action greeted with cheers.
Backed by a live band and celebrating his recent NBA partnership by sporting a Brooklyn Nets hat, Jay-Z flew through a sampler of his most beloved hits, from early hit Izzo (H.O.V.A.) to crowd favorite Big Pimpin. He gave plenty of love to his new material as well, performing an ode to his hometown of New York City with a euphoric rendition of Empire State of Mind and leading the crowd in singing Run This Town, before playing the hard-driving On to the Next One...
...Jay-Z's turn at Made In America wasn't complete without a few high-profile guests. As the show neared its end, Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music posse stormed the stage. West, joined by Pusha T, Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Common, showcased new tracks Mercy and New God Flow with his crew before splitting off to perform several songs solo. With the crowd in near pandemonium, Jay and Ye closed the night with collaboration N----- in Paris.- [USA Today]
RZA is The Man with The Iron Fists
Quentin Tarantino presents The Man With the Iron Fists, an action-adventure inspired by kung-fu classics as interpreted by his longtime collaborators RZA and Eli Roth. Making his debut as a big-screen director and leading man, RZA -- alongside a stellar international cast led by Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu -- tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero in nineteenth-century China who must unite to destroy the clan traitor who would destroy them all.RZA's movie The Man with the Iron Fists opens on November 2 and features a soundtrack with contributions from The Black Keys, Kanye West, Raekwon, RZA, Wu-Tang Clan, Flatbush Zombies (who just played Afro-Punk), Freddie Gibbs, Ghostface Killah, Kool G Rap, and many, many more. Stream the new RZA track "Blowin' In The Wind" at soundcloud, and dig on the eye-popping "red band" trailer for the film, the movie poster and soundtrack tracklisting below.
Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz, who has been making guest appearances for years and has a few mixtapes to his name as well, is set to release his first official album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, this week (8/14) via Def Jam. The album features guest spots from Kanye West, Drake, Nicki MInaj, Lil Wayne, The-Dream, John Legend, Scarface, and more. You can check out some streams and videos from the album and the cover art and tracklist below.
2 Chainz has some upcoming dates in support of the new album. His only live date in the NYC area is Rock the Bells, which he plays on September 1 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, but he'll be in NYC on Thursday (8/16) to sign autographs of the new album at J&R Music and Computer World (23 Park Row) at 6 PM. "Purchase the CD beginning 8/14 & receive a wristband to meet 2 Chainz on 8/16. While supplies last."
That same night (8/16), there will also be an official album release party for Based on a T.R.U. Story at Webster Hall for a Girls Night Out party (ladies free all night). No word on whether or not 2 Chainz will actually be showing up, but if he's in NYC for that autograph signing, it seems likely. The flier for this party is below.
UPDATE: Though Webster Hall is still open Thursday night, the 2 Chainz event is cancelled.

Kanye West at Ovation Hall - 7/7/12 (via eyevfaye)
Kanye West, who has been touring with Jay-Z in support of Watch the Throne, took some time off from that this past weekend to do a 2 night solo run at Atlantic City's Revel Ovation Hall on Friday (7/6) and Saturday (7/7). He performed no songs from WTT and played solo the entire time except for when he brought out Pusha T for "Runaway" the first night, and for their new song, "New God Flow," the second night (the first time they ever performed the track live). Like Kanye's other recent solo shows, it was a big on-stage production, with dancers, cranes, costumes, huge backgrounded artwork, etc.
Both nights got performances of "Mercy," which is purportedly going to be on the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer (due out 8/7), which "New God Flow" will potentially appear on as well. Though Jay-Z didn't show up, Kanye did cover him the first night ("Run This Town"), and the second night he covered Michael Jackson ("PYT").
In related news, MTV reports that Kanye is planning a new solo album to come out at some point after Cruel Summer. The album will follow his 2010 year-end-list-topping My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Videos and setlists from both nights are below.
Kanye at ACL 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)
Kanye West will be coming to Atlantic City next month for shows at Revel Ovation Hall on July 6 and 7. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (6/22) at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (6/20) at 10 AM. They're his only North American dates announced at the moment.
In related news, Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music group is putting out a compilation album this year which is set to feature Pusha T, Frank Ocean, Jay Electronica, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and more. They recently dropped a video for the track "Mercy," with Kanye, Pusha T, Big Sean, and 2 Chainz. You can watch that below. G.O.O.D. Music are set to make their debut television performance on the BET Awards on July 1.
Meanwhile, Kanye has been on tour in Europe with Jay-Z and Rap Radar reports that last night (6/18) in Paris they broke their record of amount of times playing "Niggas in Paris" at one show, performing the song a dozen times. (Is anyone else besides Kanye vying for this record?) You can check out a video of this below.

It's still Fashion Week, and that's also why Guns N' Roses begin their small venue tour tonight.
Jay-Z and Kanye West premiered a video for 2011's favorite party jam (that's not* "Midnight City") "Niggas in Paris." Cobbled together "Watch the Throne" tour footage, the video keeps all the frenetic stage lighting in tact, warranting a pre-roll epileptic warning. Check the video out below.
Federal prosecutors in Virginia say they have shut down one of the world's largest Internet file-sharing sites, Megaupload.com, and charged its founder and others with violating piracy laws. This strangely/coincidentally/ironically/suspiciously/somethingly comes just one day after more news of Universal being pissed off which was also the same day (yesterday) that the internet protested the related SOPA & PIPA bills (which were somewhat successful in helping that issue).
An indictment accuses the company of costing copyright holders more than $500 million in lost revenue from pirated films and other content. -[New York Times]
Megupload is run by, no shit, CEO Swizz Beatz who recently helped create a video promoting the site with testimonials from the likes of Kanye West, Diddy, The Game, Ciara, and Alicia Keys. That video was controversially removed (by Universal) and then put back on YouTube in December (by Google). Universal Music Group and Megaupload are now suing each other, though it looks like that's the least of Megaupload's problems at the moment. Universal says the endorsements were "unauthorized". Watch the video in question below...
Follow along @KanyeWest (it's continuing live as I type this).

Aziz Ansari booked two last minute Saturday night shows at the Bell House to test out material for a new album he hopes to release next year. Hannibal Burress opened both the early and late shows. We've got some pictures from the the late one in this post.
Jay-Z and Kanye West's N*ggas in Paris is an epically hard, head bumping anthem that's ruled rap for the better part of the year. Aziz Ansari and Matthew Shawver just one upped it by translating it into a hilarious rendition filled with emojis from their iPhones. This is the best thing to happen to music all year.Hannibal Buress, who don't forget performs at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn for free almost every Sunday night, has some hip hop related news of his own too. He got Young Jeezy's attention with a joke.

Jay-Z, who is in the middle of his Watch the Throne tour> with Kanye West, announced via a press conference (video below) that he will perform at NYC's Carnegie Hall on February 6 and 7 to benefit the United Way of New York City to help expand the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, and that tickets will be sold privately on December 12 with a limited amount of public tickets going on sale January 30 at 11 AM. Private tickets will range from $500 to $2500.
"It depends on how this thing finishes up," Jay said in reference to his and Kanye's current Watch the Throne Tour. "We -- I say 'we' because I'm in Throne mode -- we're in a great place creatively. You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year. You know, we're really in a great place creatively. We really found our zone."All dates and video below...
