Khanate playing first show in 19 years at Roadburn 2024
Drone metal vets Khanate (members of Sunn O))), Blind Idiot God, and OLD) surprise-released their first album in 14 years, To Be Cruel, last year, and now they’ve announced their first live show in 19 years: Roadburn 2024, which goes down April 18-21 in Tilburg, Netherlands.
“As a collective, Khanate has been silent during our dormancy,” the band says, “but now we will get loud; very loud. We’ll be returning to the stage to explore tension and the elasticity of time – at Roadburn 2024. Get dead.”
Khanate also have reissues of their 2001 self-titled debut album and 2003’s Things Viral arriving December 1 via Sacred Bones, with reissues of 2005’s Capture & Release and 2009’s Clean Hands Go Foul TBA.
