Macca

You may remember that when Firefly Music Fest announced its 2015 lineup, the first headliner was blurred out on the poster. Well, as rumored, it's Paul McCartney, the fest revealed today. Macca will join Morrissey, Modest Mouse, Spoon, Run The Jewels, How To Dress Well, Snoop Dogg, Tycho, Sturgill Simpson, Sylvan Esso, Zola Jesus, Rustie, Le1f and many more at the fest which happens June 18-21 at the Woodlands in Dover, DE. Updated lineup below.

General admission passes to Firefly go on sale Monday (3/2) at noon, EST.

McCartney was just in NYC for a surprise Valentine's Day show and an appearance on the SNL 40th Anniversary special. He since spent some time skiing in Vermont, much to the delight of the J.J. Hapgood General Store & Eatery in Peru.

Sick Feeling

It wasn't until 2014, Devore says, that Sick Feeling "got really solidified," partly via a summer-long residency at Trans-Pecos, a forward-thinking venue in Queens, where they'd play gigs alongside industrial power-electronic acts one week and stoner metal bands the next. In September, they curated a photography show at a gallery in Manhattan and performed inside a soundproof box for three hours, without breaks, at its opening; Miller-Gordon vomited inside the box about 30 minutes in. With its pummeling guitars, whiplash drums, and cathartic bursts of violent energy, Suburban Myth, their 2015 debut, sounds more like traditional, by-the-books hardcore than their scene-hopping behavior might suggest. [FADER]
NYC hardcore rippers Sick Feeling celebrated the release of their new album, Suburban Myth, at new-ish Greenpoint venue Aviv on Saturday (1/31). It was a very genre-diverse bill, with support from rapper Le1f (who could easily headline the venue), post-punks Dark Blue, and ambient duo On A Clear Day. We've got pictures of Sick Feeling and a bit of Le1f but unfortunately missed the two others. Were you there? How was it?

Sick Feeling's next hometown show is on their upcoming tour with Obliterations, which hits Saint Vitus on February 20. Tickets are still available.

Sick Feeling

NYC hardcore band Sick Feeling just keep piling on the shows. They played Baby's All Right with Big Ups yesterday (1/14) (anyone go?), and have a tour with Obliterations hitting Saint Vitus on February 20 with Mammal and Raid (tickets).

Now they've got an album release show announced for January 31 at new Greenpoint venue Aviv with a great lineup of NYC rapper Le1f, Philly post-punks Dark Blue (mems Clockcleaner, Paint It Black), On a Clear Day, and DJ sets from Mess Kid and Matt Werth. That starts at 8 PM and tickets are $10 at the door. Show flyer below.

Sick Feeling's debut album, Suburban Myth, comes out next week (1/20) via Geoff Rickly's Collect Records. Stream it in full below...

DonChristian

Le1f-associated rapper/singer DonChristian released his album Renzo Piano earlier this year, which features Le1f, fellow avant-rapper Antwon, production from The-Drum's Jeremiah Meece, frequent Le1f collaborator Boody, FACT year-end list maker lsdxoxo and others. If you're into the kind of dark, left-field stuff of Le1f and Antwon, you'll likely dig DonChristian too. You can stream the album and watch the video for its track "Clerk" below, and download it for free here.

DonChristian headlines a NYC show TONIGHT (12/19) at Cameo, which Le1f DJs. Also on the bill is Tigga Calore, Joey Labeija b2b False Witness, Shyboi and Geng. Tickets are still available.

Later this month, he opens Le1f's Kwanzaa show at SOB's on 12/28, which also features singer Rahel (who's on Renzo Piano as well), Boody, Abdu Ali, Juliana Huxtable, Joey Labeija and more special guests. Tickets for that are still available too.

In addition to guesting on Renzo Piano, Rahel also has a song with Jeremiah Meece, and she's featured on that FACT-approved lsdxoxo album, whorecore, which also features another great left-field NYC rapper Cakes Da Killa. You can stream that album below.

Cakes Da Killa also had lsdxoxo produce multiple tracks on this year's Hunger Pangs, and he's got two upcoming local shows too. He was added to the !!! (chk chk chk) / Prince Rama New Year's Eve show at Knitting Factory (tickets), and he's got a show at Baby's All Right on February 20 with UNIIQU3 (tickets).

DonChristian and lsdxoxo album streams below...
