Once again, Langerado is gone.Death Cab for Cutie, Trey Anastasio Band, Ben Harper, Ween, Thievery Corporation, Arctic Monkeys, G. Love & Special Sauce, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Wolfgang Gartner, Etienne De Crecy - Live Show, Ghostland Observatory, Das Racist, Portugal. The Man, Friendly Fires, Childish Gambino, Smith Westerns, Super Mash Bros., Savoy, Mates of State and The Whigs were all on the bill of the cancelled Florida fest.
An attempt to revive the South Florida music festival ended up failing, as the concert, scheduled for Oct. 8-9 at Davie's Markham Park, was canceled by promoters Boros Entertainment. It's the second time that Langerado has been canceled in the last three years -- in 2009, the show was canceled due to economic reasons after being slated for Miami's Bicentennial Park.
Tickets were initially selling for $150 in advance, $180 at the gate, although The Miami Herald reports they were dipping in price to as low as $75.
The lineup included Death Cab For Cutie, Arctic Monkeys, Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper and Ween. The Herald reports that the lineup had been getting criticized on Facebook since it was announced back in June.
On Twitter, Death Cab lead singer Ben Gibbard, whose band was also part of the canceled 2009 festival, expressed his apologies to fans: "Sorry to all who were looking forward to seeing us at Langerado. Very upset that we've had to say this twice in the last 5 years." [PBPost]

The 2009 Langerado Music Festival has been cancelled due to sluggish ticket sales. In related news, Ultra Music Festival is still happening in the same city, though Miami's BANG! Festival is still dead since it was at first "postponed" in 2007.
Langerado's independent local promoters, faced with a very tough decision in a dismal economy, cancelled the 2009 event only after every possible option was exhausted.
As Langerado Co-Promoter Ethan Schwartz explains, "Langerado has always put the fan experience first. Unfortunately, during these difficult economic times, and facing a first year in a new venue, it's become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events. Putting Langerado on hold was the toughest decision we have ever had to make. We are very grateful for the support of the greater-Miami community and the music community during this difficult time."

As Langerado continues to grow, it is more important than ever to not just recycle as much material as possible on site, but also to REDUCE the amount of waste that is brought to the festival. We need everyone's help in order to make this happen!
With Bicentennial Park situated alongside Biscayne Bay, Langerado chooses to promote what is best for the preservation of the environment just like we choose to promote the finest and freshest musicians.
