Little Children
LIttle Children

As mentioned, Sweden's delicate folk act Little Children will be in NYC to open for Shout Out Louds at Music Hall of Williamsburg on March 11. Tickets are still available, but if you'd like to go for free we're giving away two pair. Contest details are below.

Before the MHOW show, Little Children will also play Pianos on March 8 as part of an all-Nordic line-up. (No advance tickets just yet.) Also playing are Norway's Heyerdahl whose percussion-heavy, moody and expansive album, Øen, was released this week. It's worth and listen and you can stream it below.

Opening the night at Pianos is Helsinki's Anni Mattila, who describes her sound as "Norah Jones & Janelle Monáe went to a Finnish sauna." You can stream her song "Sneakers" below.

And if you haven't heard Little Children's In Hau EP, you can stream that below too.

Freakwater

Like his Swedish contemporaries Loney Dear and Jose Gonzalez, Stockholm resident Linus Lutti, using the Little Children moniker, makes the kind of hushed, spooky folk that exudes a wintry aura, and the sound of fingers scraping across the fretboard are an instrument in itself. Little Children have a new EP out today (1/15) titled In Hau and you can stream the whole thing below. (That's the cover art above.) We've also got the premiere of the video for "No Direction" and you can watch that below too.

Little Children will be opening for fellow Swedes Shout Out Louds at Music Hall of Williamsburg on March 11 and tickets to that show are still available. It's their only tour date currently scheduled.

Video and EP stream below...
