Killer Mike at Webster Hall in August (more by Amanda Hatfield)
As discussed, Big Boi had to cancel his tour with Killer Mike, but since rescheduled it and is set to return to NYC on October 1 at Brooklyn Bowl. At the time, Killer Mike wasn't scheduled for that show, and he's since been in NYC when he and El-P (as Run the Jewels) played Webster Hall and Fool's Gold Day Off, but since we last spoke Killer Mike has officially been added to the Brooklyn Bowl show, along with Nyzzy Nyce. Tickets for that show are still available.
Big Boi recently made a video for his song "Thom Pettie" with Little Dragon (also touring) and Killer Mike. Check it out, along with the updated list of tour dates, below...

We recently pointed out that Big Boi will be in NYC to play a semi-private show at SOB's. We more recently updated that post with news of a TV appearance:
Big Boi will stop by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday (12/7) to perform "Mama Told Me" with Little Dragon, who were initially supposed to guest on the song's recording, but were replaced on the album by Kelly Rowland. Now we find out, via mfc (and the flyer above), that Big Boi will be playing the Studio at Webster Hall Saturday (12/8). Tickets will be available at 8pm TODAY (12/5).

As mentioned, Big Boi releases his second solo album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, next week (12/11) via Def Jam. His solo debut, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, is still my single favorite hip hop album of the new decade so naturally I've been seriously anticipating VLADR since Big Boi mentioned he began work on it. And admittedly, the album is a bit overshadowed by its predecessor, due in part to lacking a song as huge as "Shutterbug." But though the album never hits a moment as large as that one, it's still a winner in its own right.
Vicious Lies opens up like a classic OutKast album, with a short, slow and pretty intro track that leads right into a blunted headknocker, "The Thickets," which appropriately features Sleepy Brown of Organized Noize, who worked on a lot of early OutKast. The bar continues to raise on the next track, a rhythmic club track up there with "Tangerine" or the Big Boi-featuring Janelle Monae track from that same year, "Tightrope." The album plateaus a bit there but more standouts start appearing later on with tracks like "Thom Pettie," a dirty synth track with a great hook from Little Dragon and a characteristically abrasive verse from Killer Mike. Later on we get "Lines," which is probably the best track on the album thanks to a killer chorus from Phantogram that doesn't leave your head once its in there (A$AP Rocky is on the track too). But the most interesting moment of the album has to be "Shoes For Running," which is carried by a hook sung by Wavves dude Nathan Williams. The only thing stopping it from being a total head scratcher is that Nathan toured with GZA and Killer Mike (which itself was a head scratcher) and I still can't decide if it's one of those fun indie/rap collabs like Kid Cudi and MGMT's "Pursuit of Happiness that you'll be hearing all year, or just plain weird. But the fact that I'm still going on about it must say something.
Before that, Big Boi will stop by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday (12/7) to perform "Mama Told Me" with Little Dragon, who were initially supposed to guest on the song's recording, but were replaced on the album by Kelly Rowland.
Since we last spoke about the album, Big Boi has (legally) revealed two more of its tracks, the Kid Cudi-featuring "She Hates Me," and the T.I. and Ludacris-featuring Atlanta boasting party "In the A," both of which you can hear below. In related news, TI just revealed his storied track with Andre 3000, "Sorry," which will appear on his upcoming Trouble Man LP and can also be streamed below.

As expected, there have been lots of (dangerous) rumors floating around about Big Boi's upcoming sophomore solo album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, which is due out December 11 via Def Jam (pushed back from November 13). He's now revealed what is (fingers crossed!) the official tracklist for the album and the guest spots are pretty exciting. Despite Little Dragon's initial guest spot having gone to Kelly Rowland a while back, the group actually appears on three other album tracks. The album's got plenty of love from the dirty south, like on "Gossip," which features veteran UGK and worthy newcomer Big K.R.I.T.; frequent Outkast/Big Boi collaborator Killer Mike appears on a track with Little Dragon; TI and Ludacris end up on a track together; and Sleepy Brown of Organized Noize, who produced a ton of Outkast back in the day is on one too. In more surprising (and also exciting) news, Wavves and Jai Paul are both on the album. As is A$AP Rocky, Phantogram, Kid Cudi, and others. You can check out the full tracklist below.
In related news, TI also revealed the tracklist for his much-delayed upcoming album, Trouble Man (due out 12/18), and it looks a bit different than the one we initially mentioned. The most striking difference is that the song sampling Gotye and featuring Kendrick Lamar is not listed anymore. But in more positive news, Big Boi's Outkast partner Andre 3000 is there on the song, "Sorry" (the one where he allegedly apologizes to Big Boi). Cee Lo Green, A$AP Rocky, R. Kelly, and more are set to appear too. The full tracklist is below. TI plays NYC on December 18 at Best Buy Theater (tickets).

All things considered, we hope you had a Happy Halloween. You already saw what John Vanderslice and Freelance Whales dressed up as, and Dum Dum Girls' nun costumes (Crocodiles in there too). We also already posted Deap Vally, Those Darlins & the Mountain Goats in Halloween attire, and you saw Vampire Weekend all decked out for Kimmel. Here's a whole bunch more. That's Hunx and a punx above. See the rest (sort of NSFW), below...
"That's y!" says Snoop Dogg...
Did Snoop Dogg talk much politics at his Wellmont Theater show last week? That picture above, no not the cats, is his Tweeted list of reasons for voting for Obama, and for not voting Romney.
Kanye West has much less to say, for now. All his amazing tweets have been deleted except for one new one that says "BE BACK SOON". UPDATE: Now there are also three tweets about Steve Jobs.
Bummed to hear that Big Boi, who recently played Chicago's North Coast Music Fest, replaced Little Dragon with Kelly Rowland on the final version of the song he performed live with Little Dragon in Austin.
Creed frontman Scott Stapp says T.I. saved his life.
Missy Elliot may actually release an album this year.

Little Dragon/Frankie Rose at Prospect Park - 8/10/12
Little Dragon and Frankie Rose teamed up for an incredible double billing at Prospect Park on Friday (8/10) for the second to last free Celebrate Brooklyn show of the season (the last was on Saturday). Little Dragon played mostly off of their 2011 LP, Ritual Union, but included a few off of their first two albums as well. If you missed the show, did you stream it on NPR? If you missed that stream, you can listen to the archive of Little Dragon's full set on NPR.
Frankie Rose, meanwhile, had a busy weekend, playing The Surf Lodge in Montauk the next day.
The show began with a Voices of Black DJ set. More pictures of all three acts, Little Dragon's setlist and a video from their set are below...
Big Boi & Little Dragon in Austin (more by Tim Griffin)
As we already told you, "Little Dragon played East Austin's Millenium Center last night (8/7) as part of the Vitamin Water Uncapped series of parties being thrown by Fader. For their last song, Big Boi came out for a performance of "Mama Told Me," a single off of his upcoming album, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors (due out 11/13), which Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano sings on." You saw the pictures. Watch the video below...

Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon and Big Boi @ Fader on 8/7/2012
Little Dragon played East Austin's Millenium Center last night (8/7) as part of the Vitamin Water Uncapped series of parties being thrown by Fader. For their last song, Big Boi came out for a performance of "Mama Told Me," a single off of his upcoming album, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors (due out 11/13), which Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano sings on. According to Big Boi, the track is one of two on his new album to feature a collaboration with Little Dragon. A-Trak performed after that, with Little Dragon and Big Boi returning to the stage for "Shutterbug." As you might imagine, the party (which was also MC'd by onetime BET host Miss Info) was mobbed. Pictures from the event are in this post.
More pics and Little Dragon's setlist from the Austin show are below.

Little Dragon at MHOW in 2011 (more by Amanda Hatfield)
As mentioned, Little Dragon will be playing some dates in the US and Canada this August, including HARD Festival, Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and a free Celebrate Brooklyn show at Prospect Park on August 10 with Frankie Rose. After that show, they'll stick around Brooklyn to DJ Glasslands that same night (8/10). Admission is $10 with RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you're in Chicago, maybe you caught them DJing the bvChicago-presented show at Lincoln Hall this past May, which took place the same night they opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers there.
The band just debuted their new single, "Sunshine," in an Absolut ad, which aired during an episode of The Daily Show last Wednesday (6/27). Since then, they've made a video for the track and put it up on iTunes. You can check out the video for the track and the Absolut ad that it plays in below, along with an updated list of dates.

Complimenting [Radiohead's] case for its post-major-label forays into art-rock craftsmanship was a stunning stage production that was a work of art in and of itself. With band members backlit by two towering video walls, a dozen tile-like screens shifted shape overhead and changed color with thrilling results. Wild-card set list selections included "I Might Be Wrong," "House of Cards," and "Kid A"; while live staples like "Idioteque," "Karma Police" and fevered-pitch show-closer "Paranoid Android" were among the oldies represented. [Rolling Stone]Day 2 of Bonnaroo went down in Manchester, TN on Friday (6/8) with sets from Radiohead, St. Vincent, Feist, and more. As reported on bvChicago, a song was dedicated to Jack White during Radiohead's set:
Before playing "Supercollider," Thom Yorke took a minute to dedicate the song to Jack White. He said, "This song is for Jack White. We saw him yesterday. A big thank-you to him, we're not going to tell you why but you'll find out." As many have speculated, this could mean that Radiohead have recorded/will be recording a Third Man single. We'll see.More pics of Day 1 are HERE. More of Day 2 below...
Bon Iver/The Walkmen, variations on a theme at Sasquatch - 5/27/12
Experiencing live music at The Gorge is a powerful and emotional experience. It may seem unlikely, however, that The Gorge has the power to break even the most emotionally strong person down to tears. When Bon Iver performed "Skinny Love" on Sunday night, tears were not a rare sight. In fact, they were pretty common. Sasquatch! fosters an environment that will change the way you listen to music. Your favorite songs will never sound the same. New songs will become life-changing memories. [Oregon Daily Emerald]And now the rest of our photos from Day Three (5/26) of the Sasquatch Music Festival in Gorge, Washington which happened Memorial Day Weekend. (First set of Sunday pics are here.) Check out photos of Bon Iver, The Walkmen, Zola Jesus, Little Dragon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Hospitality, and more below.

Lollapalooza (more by Grant MacAllister)
Chicago Sun Times reports:
Lollapalooza has revealed its official 2012 list of performers -- a typically wide-ranging smorgasbord of genres and styles topped by nearly a dozen mainstage headliners: the Red Hot Chili Peppers, freshly reunited bands Black Sabbath and At the Drive-In, the Black Keys, Jack White, Florence + The Machine, the Shins and Passion Pit, plus spotlighted electronic music including Swedish house titan Avicii, French dance duo Justice and DJ-producer Bassnectar.Check out the full list below...
The annual music festival is scheduled for Aug. 3-5 in Chicago's Grant Park.
Rumored lineups have circulated widely, as they usually do, and Lollapalooza itself stoked the speculation in recent weeks via a series of CTA and online advertisements that seemed to hint at who would be playing.
The ads featured lyrics from such acts as Sigur Ros, Santigold, Jack White, Kimbra, Twin Shadow, the Weeknd, Bloc Party and more -- all bands that wound up on the bill.

"Following last year's 10th anniversary, which crushed previous attendance records and set a new mark for the speed with which tickets sold out, the Sasquatch! Music Festival unveils its 2012 lineup which once again features 4 days of music. The festival, hailed as "a model of well-paced programming...in a four-day schedule as efficient and natural feeling as an expertly built algorithm" by NPR Music while Wired notes, "leave the landscape out of it and Sasquatch! has a lineup to kill for," runs May 25-28 (Memorial Day Weekend) at The Gorge, the internationally acclaimed concert venue carved in the basalt cliffs high above the Columbia River Gorge in Quincy, WA."The Sasquatch! Music Festival takes place, as usual, at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington over Memorial Day weekend (May 25-28). And this year's lineup is:
We already posted Pitchfork's and SPIN's, so... here's Rolling Stone's top 50 albums of 2011. It's got tons of big sellers and major label players taking high spots like Adele, Jay-Z and Kanye West, Paul Simon, and Lady Gaga, but then something unexpected like tUnE-yArDs places at #13. There are also some odd inclusions like Wavves' Life Sux EP and then some albums you could only find on a Rolling Stone list like SuperHeavy (the supergroup featuring Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damian Marley, and others). They also give shots to Little Dragon, Josh T Pearson, Das Racist, Wild Flag, and many more. Check out the full list below...
Tycho (aka Scott Hansen) last toured North America this past October in support of his new album Dive, which is out now. Though he headlined MHOW during that tour, most of the dates were opening for Little Dragon, whose track, "Little Man," he has since remixed (listen below).
Tycho will go on his own headlining tour of North America in early 2012 which brings him back to Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 4. Tickets are not on sale yet but check ticketmaster for updates.
Most of the dates on that tour are being opened by Brooklyn duo Beacon (who released an EP last month), but they are not listed on the MHOW show. However, you can catch Beacon in NYC TONIGHT (12/16) at Cameo Gallery with Home Video and Warm Ghost.
