Skull Eclipses

Lushlife & Botany are Skull Eclipses (hear 3 songs from their debut LP)

Indie-rapper Lushlife and producer Botany have teamed up as The Skull Eclipses, and they’re releasing their self-titled debut album this Friday (3/9) via Western Vinyl (pre-order). It features Open Mike Eagle, Laraaji, Shabazz Palaces’ Tendai Maraire, Ava Luna’s Felicia Douglass, Lojii and Def Rain. The songs with Open Mike Eagle (“Gone”) and Tendai Maraire & Felicia Douglass (“Pillars”) were already released, and we’re now premiering one more song before the album drops, “Spacecrafts in Rajasthan.” All three are out-there, psychedelic rap songs, but still grounded and hard-hitting enough that you’re never floating too high in space. “Spacecrafts in Rajasthan” comes with a lyric video that uses footage from “Kohraa,” a 1964 Bollywood reimagining of Daphne Du Maurier novel / Hitchcock film, Rebecca. Watch that and listen to the two previous singles below.

The Skull Eclipses have some upcoming shows, and they were supposed to play NYC last night (3/7) but it was cancelled due to weather and rescheduled for April 24 at Union Pool with killer support from industrial rap group Dälek (tickets). All dates, including Lushlife and Botany solo shows, are listed below.
