Tenacious D's Festival Supreme is back for a second year, this time happening at LA Sports Arena & Exposition Park on October 25. The laffstravaganza (with music too) features over 40 performers, and if you are into comedy it's a pretty "holy crap" lineup, including The State, Workaholics, Metalocalypse, Cheech & Chong, The Eagles of Death Metal, The Dan Band, Peaches, Doug Benson, Dr. Demento and lots more (including the 'D themselves). Full 2014 lineup is listed below.
Tickets for 2014 Festival Supreme go on sale Friday (5/30) at 10 AM PST (that's 1 PM NYC time).

Comedy Bang Bang are Bonnaroo-ing it
While you are noodle-dancing your way to, and at, the 2013 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee (June 13 - 14), you might not be aware that this year marks the milestone 10-year anniversary of their annually-awesome and totally legendary Bonnaroo Comedy Theatre (Hosted by IFC). This year they are really shooting the works with a gold-standard, rock-solid, pant-shittingly awesome line up. So while you're at the festival, take a break from those dumb bands and thrill to the air-conditioned comedy of, in alphabetical order, James Adomian, Cristela Alonzo, Eric Andre, Maria Bamford, Mike Birbiglia, Jerrod Carmichael, Michael Che, Comedy Bang! Bang! with Scott Aukerman and Reggie Watts, David Cross, Kyle Dunnigan, Chris Gethard, Nikki Glaser, Ed Helms' Whisky Sour Radio Hour, Improvised Shakespeare Company, Jared Logan, Bob Saget, and Daniel Tosh.
If you'd like to see Ed Helms doing music here in NYC, his bluegrass trio plays Rockwood Music Hall on April 6 and tickets are on sale now.

Baroness at Terminal 5 in May (more by Joe McCabe)
Earlier this week, we posted an update from Baroness showing that things were looking upwards for the band. Unfortunately though, with two members having broken vertebrae and frontman John Baizely having a broken arm and leg, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that Baroness have in fact cancelled some of their upcoming North American tour dates, including their NYC show at House of Vans and LA's FYF Fest. They will not be replaced on the House of Vans lineup, which happens on August 29 and now just includes Turbonegro, Doomriders, and Nightbirds. This is a bummer but it makes sense that the band takes the time they need to recover, and we wish them a speedy and successful recovery!
Meanwhile, FYF Fest, which Wild Flag also dropped off of, recently expanded its lineup. It now features The Faint (who just announced they'll be reissuing Danse Macabre and touring the album), Glass Candy, King Tuff, and newcomers The Orwells. Tickets for FYF Fest are still available. The updated lineup and flier are below.
David Cross @ ATP NY on Friday (more by Ryan Muir)
Hi, I'm hated comedian David Cross. I've been asked to go to London to perform a three week run of my offensive stand-up routines at the Soho Theater. The price is $5.00 and it's happening at the UCB Theatre in NYC tonight (9/15 @ 11pm). "ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE SOLD OUT", but "There will be a stand-by line for this show" which means if you really want to get in, you have a decent chance (true for all UCB shows, especially the 'sold out' free ones).
And since it's London and those folks have no idea who I am or what my act is like, I thought that rather than try to whip up a brand new tight hour and a half, that I would instead just brush off some old chestnuts and be on my way. But I dont' remember half of the shit I used to do. Good thing I recorded cd's!
Won't you come watch me "get ready" for London with some Klassic Komedy Bitz? It's priced accordingly and there will be beer.
David performed at ATP NY this past Friday. One weekend earlier he and some friends were at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. That show can be watched in the video below...
