Somehow I didn't go out last week, except for Pilooski and Friendly Fires on Tuesday & Wednesday which I already told you about. Plenty of other dance events went on though...the School of Seven Bells show at the Seaport (above), the DFA Boat Party, Flashing Lights, and Girls & Boys. Now, on to this week:
"Mika will be playing his only American show of the summer at New York City's Le Poisson Rouge on Tuesday, June 23rd. The show will be an acoustic, intimate affair, seeing Mika perform as a four-piece with a drummer and two guitarists in tow. He will be playing songs from his newly released EP, Songs For Sorrow, available now via his website - in addition to fan favorites from his debut, Life in Cartoon Motion. Tickets for the show are $25.00 and are available now."
Pete Yorn is playing two shows at Webster Hall this summer. Tickets for July 28th and July 29th, and a 2-day pass, go on sale at noon.

The Arctic Monkeys took best British group and album - both for the second year in a row - while Foo Fighters won best international group and album.Mika & Beth Ditto
The ceremony saw performances from Amy Winehouse and Sir Paul McCartney, who received a lifetime achievement honour.
Kate Nash won best British female and Mark Ronson was named best British male.
Producer Ronson, who performed with Winehouse and Adele at the Earl's Court show, is the first non-singer to have scooped the solo artist prize....
...US star Kanye West, who was unable to attend the ceremony, was named winner of the best international male prize. "I'm sure there's someone who deserves this more than me, but I just don't know who they are," he said in his acceptance video....
