California's furious hardcore punk band Stoic Violence just released Chained via Deranged Records, a relentlessly punishing 12" that revels in bleakness. The album is here just in time for New York's Alright, the multi-venue punk festival that they play, along with Hank Wood, La Misma, Anasazi and many more. Give it a listen below.
New York's Alright begins tonight (4/17) and continues through Sunday (4/20). Stoic Violence's set happens at Le Poisson Rouge on Saturday (4/19) with Infernoh, Crazy Spirit, Gas Rag, Wiccans and Murderer. Tickets for that show are still available.
As mentioned, Stoic Violence also kick off a tour after NY's Alright. When we last spoke, those dates were still TBA but have now been announced, including another NYC show happening on May 1 at Lulu's with Survival and Pleasure Industry.

Back in 2011, it was announced that new Brooklyn venue The Wick would open in a former brewery at 260 Meserole St (next to the barely-open outdoor venue The Well), and that venue is finally set to open this March.
Four shows have been announced so far. The first is experimental Japanese musician Keiji Haino on March 27 before he heads to Tennessee for the Big Ears Festival. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
Then, as discussed, The Wick is one of the venues that NYC's experimental music festival Unsound happens in. That fest will have Porter Ricks, Vladislav Delay, Miles, Leisure Muffin, Ital & Halal and Le Petit Garcon on April 5. Tickets are on sale now.
The Wick will also be one of the venues used for hardcore/punk fest New York's Alright. That includes the Dawn of Humans, Contingent, Blotter, Asile and Goosebumps show on April 17 (tickets) and the Hank Wood & the Hammerheads, DiE, Savageheads, The Impalers and Razorheads show on April 20 (tickets). The other NY's Alright shows happen at Le Poisson Rouge, Acheron, and ABC No Rio. Updated schedule below.

Hoax at Acheron (more by Sarja Hasan)
A packed-to-the-gills Acheron welcomed the stacked lineup of Cleveland punk crew Inmates, bloodied-Massachusetts-set Hoax, NYC favorites Warthog and Murderer on January 12, a rare showing for the Clevo crew (their last was in 2010). More pics from Acheron can be seen in their sweaty glory over at Invisible Oranges.

Inmates at 528 Johnson, Sept 2010 (more by Keith Marlowe)
Brutal Cleveland hardcore crew Inmates (mem Integrity, Keelhaul) will return to NYC to play a show with punishing MA crew Hoax (who have a new video), NYC favorites Warthog, and Murderer. January 12 at Acheron, so save the date. With that insane lineup, the show promises to be pretty mental, possibly as crazy as the band's appearances with Systematic Death in 2010. Don't sleep.
Head below for a stream of 2007's Assholes Unanimous Presents... in full alongside the new Hoax video.
