Neck of the Woods

Neck of the Woods releasing new LP on Pelagic, touring after SXSW (stream a track)

Vancouver progressive death metallers Neck of the Woods are releasing their sophomore album The Annex Of Ire, on March 20 via Pelagic Records (pre-order). It was produced and engineered by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung, Brutus, etc), and going by the singles released so far, it kinda sounds like if you took the proggy post-metal of Pelagic’s flagship band The Ocean and injected it with the death-y metalcore of prime-era BTBAM. We’re premiering second single “Vision Loser,” along with a playthrough video for the song, and here’s what the band tells us about this one:

An absolute ripper of a tune, “Vision Loser” highlights the influences of our recent ex-bass player turned full time guitarist, Ron Holloway. With the usual NOTW crew in his corner, they continue to push the envelope of the modern metal sound. Lyrically focused on understanding, processing and overcoming anger, this song comes in hot on all fronts.

Listen and watch the video, alongside the video for the previously released title track, below.
