Internt Week 2012

Just like in 2010 and 2011, Internet Week NY HQ will be home to stages, a classroom, lounges curated by Design Within Reach, installations from Ivan Toth Depeña in collaboration with Jared Schiffman's "Spatial Media" class at NYU's ITP, and more. With 20,000 more square feet of Digital Playground as well as Conference Theater--Internet Week HQ at 82 Mercer is poised to be the best yet.

Open from May 14-17, attendees can expect to be a part of the ever-changing digital landscape in New York--hearing from industry luminaries and innovators across two stages and a classroom on the second floor of 82 Mercer. On the ground floor, Internet Week NY will host large-scale ticketed conferences with partners like App Nation.

Internet Week NY 2012 starts today (5/14) and, much like in the years prior, will feature live music performances in addition to the web-focused events.

A full schedule of all Internet Week goings on is available at their site but the musical portion of the conference kicks off tonight with an invite-only party at IWNY HQ (82 Mercer, 8-11pm) featuring Wild Belle and MNDR before moving to an after-party at Tribeca Grand later on for a performance from Rye Rye with DJ sets from Blaqstarr, Blu Jemz, Night People, and Kaviar Disco Club. Saturday (5/19) will feature a performances from Vacationer, Magic Wands and Body Language (who will also DJ) at Santos Party House.

Passes for the week are still available in varying levels but we're also giving away TWO Insider Passes, which gets you into all of the above and much more. Details on how to win these passes are below.

That kickoff party tonight will be the first NYC performance of Chicago's Wild Belle, who we profiled earlier this year on BV Chicago. The band also recently did their first BBC session last week, which will air in June. Stream their Keep You 12" below.

Internet Week 2012 closes with the Webby Awards which will be streamable in full. Patton Oswalt will host the evening.

A Wild Belle stream and details on how you can win and insider pass is below.

Internet Week

Internet Week 2011 is coming to NYC this Monday (6/6). The festival consists of several events, including mixers, panels, conferences, classes, and parties. The Rapture, who are back on DFA, are DJing the official Internet Week opening party with The Hood Internet and DJ Frankenmack. Cold Cave also play a live set at the party. The same night an after-party will take place with DJ sets from Holy Ghost! and Night People. Check out the full event schedule for more events including a discussion with Judah Friedlander and Michael Ian Black and more.

The two parties are invite-only and can be RSVP'd to with an insider pass which can be obtained here for the hefty price of $249 (or HERE for $149). If you can't muster up the cash, even though it may be worth it if you plan on attending all the rest of the stuff Internet Week has going on, we're giving away two insider passes. Contest details below. You can also pick up a HQ pass for just $15 and a tweet about your purchase but will not be allowed access to the parties.

The Internet Week event is one of three NYC shows Cold Cave currently have scheduled this summer. They also play Knitting Factory on July 12 with Cult of Youth and Zambri and Bowery Ballroom on August 6 with Austra. Tickets are still on sale for Knitting Factory and Bowery Ballroom.

Contest details and more about what the Insider Pass gets you, below...
