Thurston Moore at LPR w/ Mike Watt (more by BBG)

Thurston Moore is set to kick off a European tour in late July, but before he heads overseas, he'll be playing in Brooklyn TONIGHT (5/31) at Roulette for a show as part of a trio with guitarist Bill Nace (who Thurston has played with in Northampton Wools) and saxophonist Joe McPhee. Tickets for tonight's show are available.
Thurston also recently published a book, By The Lightswitch, which is available via Mondo Bummer. Mondo Bummer writes that the book "is a poem about hanging out. It hangs out with stars, it hangs out with girls, and it wants to hang out with you. 'Rockstars can't be poets / which sucks,' but you wouldn't know that from reading this." Thurston just read at a Mondo Bummer event on Tuesday (5/29) at ACA Galleries. Did you catch that, how was it?

After four other east coast dates Kurt Vile will play three in-stores in NYC on March 8th. At 5pm you can catch him at Academy in Brooklyn (96 N.6th) with Northampton Wools (Bill Nace + Thurston Moore). That's followed by a 7pm show at Generation Records and finally a 9pm show at Other Music.

"the Dead C are a New Zealand based noise rock trio made up of members Bruce Russell, Michael Morley and Robbie Yeats." [Wikipedia]

...The Dead C have announced a brief Stateside visit, kicking off in Philly on the 12th and wrapping just a few days later in the Chi. All kinds of noiseniks and other weirdos are coming out of the woodwork to support the Dead C on this trek, including Thurston Moore's Northampton Wools project, Wolf Eyes, Six Organs of Admittance, and Sightings.NYC are the lucky ones with Thurston Moore on the bill and those tickets are on sale. All dates and a live video below...So what's the occasion for this rare overseas voyage? Why, a new Dead C record, naturally. Secret Earth packs in four presumably long tracks and arrives October 14 on CD and vinyl thanks to Ba Da Bing.
But that's not all! Ba Da Bing is also teaming with Jagjaguwar to reissue on vinyl a pair of Dead C classics originally released by New Zealand's legendary Flying Nun label (the Clean, the Chills, the Bats, the Verlaines, etc). [Pitchfork]
