It's been a long few days for Kim Kelly, who is currently gallavanting around Europe with Mike Scheidt and YOB, but the metal maven filed the below Roadburn report to tie up the rest of her time at the 2010 edition of the epic festival that took place during an equally historic time. If you're just joining us, check out Kim Kelly's report from Day 1 before continuing below... - BBG

Prizehog is also along for the ride... check out "Husky" downloadable above, and pick up their CD-R at Aquarius Records!
Karma To Burn are BACK and have scheduled a short tour of the east coast, though no NYC date is scheduled.... you'll have to travel up to Danbury to check 'em out on Apr 22 at Cousin Larry's. Full tour dates are below.
Church of Misery have completed recording of their new album, Houses of the Unholy, and are streaming a new song, "El Padrino", at their myspace. Look for the new record on Rise Above Records, which is on pre-order here.

Bison BC are riding high off of their killer record from last year, Quiet Earth, and Death By Audio will be the bands first appearance since they played Europa with Harvey Milk. Full Bison BC tour dates are below.
The Devil & The Sea
One record that I gave alot of spins in 2008, but didnt make my year end faves was The Devil & The Sea's Heart vs Spine (pick that up here). The band is gearing up to tour the Northeast and have added a date at The Charleston on Mar 31st with another band that has been ringing my ears lately, Music Hates You. Full tour dates are below.
Justin K Broadrick dropped a MEGA-update on all of his projects, including Jesu, GreyMachine (with Aaron Turner), White Static Demon, Solaris BC and his many many remix projects. On the Jesu front, look for TWO live LPs, Opiate Sun EP in July, Infinity in June, Heart Ache reissue with a bonus Unreleased EP from 2003, and a reissue of the ENVY/jesu with an "Unconfirmed Bonus Mix". Check out the full update here.
Grief have called it quits... again. Sob. Their appearance at Maryland Deathfest has been cancelled as well. In honor of the fallen, Kill That Cat posted a video from a show before they kicked the bucket for the first time. Check that out below.
That video, and news on Atheist, Craft, Obscura, Municipal Waste, and soooo much more as The Week In Metal continues!...

Amebix, in a rare moment of calm? (more by Justina Villanueva)
Chaos in Tejas 2009 is on and poppin', having laid out May 21st-24th in Austin for a crust/punk/hardcore field day(s)... dig on the sick FINALIZED lineup that includes punk favorites like Amebix, Cock Sparrer, and Cro-Mags, as well as Eyehategod, The Thermals, Harvey Milk, Annihilation Time, Outlaw Order, Crude, Severed Head of State, Warcry, Ponytail, Trash Talk... the killer list goes on:

Outlaw Order and another Eyehategod side-project, Soilent Green, released excellent records in 2008. Soilent Green's Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction earned an honorable mention as best of 2008, and to be perfectly honest, Outlaw Order's Dragging Down The Enforcer barely missed my cut. Check out "Siege Mentality" and "Antioxidant" available for download above.
Eyehategod have two shows on the calendar: Feb 29th at The Bar in Metairie in their native Louisiana, and a headlining spot at the Los Angeles Murderfest. No New York love. Los Bastardos!
Mike IX Williams (of EHG and 00%) was recently interviewed by Bloodlust where he discussed, among many other things, his role at Phil Anselmo's Housecore Records. Housecore signees Evil Army recently lost their bassist (RIP).
In 2006, Soilent Green also shared a split with Sulaco, who was one of the recent additions to NYC's Auditory Assault Festival.

Anselmo, Keenan, Windstein, Bower & Brown are totally Down
Tennessee thrashers Evil Army are reporting that they will open for Down,
Hank III and Weedeater during tour in the middle of Feb through March, including a date in Sayreville, NJ on March 2nd. Ticket info for the Starland Ballroom show is currently unavailable.
UPDATE: Now the word is that Hank III is not on this tour anymore
UPDATE 2: This whole tour has been postponed.
Down is a crew of southern metal all-stars, including Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, Arson Anthem, etc), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Kingdom of Sorrow), Rex Brown (Pantera), Pepper Keenan (Corrosion Of Conformity), and Jimmy Bower (eyehategod).
In semi-related news, Jimmy Bower is the only member of eyehategod not to participate in Outlaw Order, who released their superfantabulous Dragging Down The Enforcer in late Nov 2008. Vocalist Mike IX Williams recently told Decibel that Outlaw Order will tour in 2009, so we'll also watch out for that.
Down opened for Metallica at a few dates in 2008, but won't be in the house when Metallica play sold-out shows at Nassau Coliseum (Jan 29th) and Prudential Center in Newark (Jan 31st & Feb 1st). Openers for those shows are Machine Head and The Sword (who still have tix available for their show at Bowery on Jan 30th).

Hmm.... who's guitar rig could this be?
SUNN O)))So, TWO new sunn o))) records, a Khanate, AND an Æthenor record! We knew that sunn 0))) was working on a new record, but a quick search turned up that Blast First (Petite) will drop that sunn 0))) and Pan Sonic pic 10". On further review, Æthenor's website reveals the following:
Che (SUNN O))) & Pan Sonic do a Suicide cover, pic 10" 2009)
Dimensions (TBA) (2xCD & 2xLP 2009)
Faking Gold & Murder (CD & LP 2008)
Clean Hands Go Foul (LP & Picture Disc 2008, CD & CD Japan 2009)
David Tibet sings and contributes lyrics on the forthcoming Æthenor album; other guests are Kristoffer Rygg (Ulver) and long time Æthenor collaborator Alexander Tucker [who just played ATP].Most importantly though, what the hell is that Khanate record Clean Hands Go Foul?!? Stephen O'Malley had this to say:
The long lost 4th KHANATE album Clean Hands Go Foul will finally emerge later this year. This was recorded directly after the Capture & Release album at Bisi Studio Brooklyn February 2005.James Plotkin, bassist for Khanate, posted one unreleased song excerpt to his website, "Wings From Spine" which is downloadable above. Will "Wings" appear on Clean Hands Go Foul? Who knows, but in the meantime prepare for the thundering evil doom of the mighty Khanate! On a related note, Plotkin's Khlyst, is taking orders for Chaos Live, a multicamera live DVD shot at Hydra Head's CMJ show in 2006. While you're there, pick up Boris's limited-to-1000 Floorshaker 12".
Mastodon's Brent Hinds had a little run-in with King Khan over the weekend, and while we have heard King Khan's side of the story, ridiculous pictures included, we haven't heard a peep from Brent Hinds. My thoughts echo that of one astute Blabbermouth reader: "The real victim here is the beer". Brann Dailor of Mastodon was recently interviewed by Metal Injection.
Justin Broadrick (Jesu, ex-Godflesh) dropped a bombshell of sorts.... a new project, Grey Machine, featuring Aaron Turner (Isis), Diarmuid Dalton (Jesu), and Dave Cochrane (Transitional)! From the upcoming album Disconnected, the band posted "Vultures Rise" available for download above!
Crom is back on the west coast, but evidence from their east coast killing spree is popping up all over the net. Check out pics from their show in Worcester, MA at Return To The Pit, an interview with a shirtless Crom at Vice magazine, as well as audio (and video below) from their appearance at WFMU.
Crom Live at WFMU, Mayhem, Amon Amarth, Baroness, Tweak Bird, Bison BC and more below.....
