Smashing Pumpkins at iHeartRadio Theater presented by P.C. Richard & Son 6/20/12
Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan, Jeff Schroeder, Mike Byrne, Nicole Fiorentino) played an intimate, invite/contest-only, record release show at the iHeartRadio Theater presented by P.C. Richard & Son in NYC last night (6/19). Pictures and the setlist from that event are in this post. Did you go? How was it?
If you weren't able to corner Billy Corgan for an autograph last night (we've got video of that below) and that happens to be your thing, then scoot on down to J&R Music World today (6/20) to get your copy of their new LP Oceania signed. The signing starts at 6PM.
So far no new US tour dates from alternative rock's version of Paul Heyman and his latest batch of Pumpkin-ites, but you can catch them in Australia and East Asia at the dates, along with the rest of the pictures and the setlist, below.

Smashing Pumpkins at Terminal 5 in 2010 (more by Jen Maier)
Billy Corgan's current version of The Smashing Pumpkins (he's the only original member) are set to release their new album, Oceania, next week (6/19) and it's streaming for the week leading up to its release on iTunes. BIlly says it's the band's best record since Mellon Collie. I wouldn't go that far, especially because the overly show-offy drummer makes me long for anything with Jimmy Chamberlain in the band, but it's somewhat refreshing to hear Billy's voice on a batch of new songs, and the writing isn't half bad.
The Pumpkins will be in NYC on the day of the album's release, June 19 for a show at the P.C. Richard & Son iHeartRadio Theater. It's an intimate/private show (200 people) and you can enter for a chance to be there by "liking" this P.C. Richard & Son facebook app. All dates including a Chicago show this week, are listed below.
In other news, Billy Corgan is finally making a pro-wrestling reality TV show. ProWrestling.net reports:
Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins joined Mister Saint Laurent on MLW Radio to discuss his new wrestling company, Resistance Pro, as well as his upcoming album, Oceania. He also revealed that he intends to launch a reality TV show about what it's like running a wrestling organization.Bleacher Report will be posting a new video about Billy's wrestling endeavors every Tuesday for the next month (starting today). Watch part 1 below, along with a list of all dates...
"I'm doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff. We're trying to get a reality show made," Corgan said. "We just signed a deal with a big reality show producer. A guy with an incredible track record. We're in good hands."
"We believe that wrestling is fascinating on many many levels. Socially, politically, even economically. The struggles independent wrestlers go through to try to find work. Those are real struggles that anybody can identify with. We want to show what goes on in a wrestling company behind the scenes.

"Adele at PC Richards theater. So amazing live." - EpicJackson
"Adele rings my bell! Saw her iheartradio promo event at PC Richards theater. She's amazing live! I'll b humming Someone Like You all nite!" - byoshikami
Adele played PC Richards Theater on 2/11, an invite/contest-winner-only show and a prelude to her May 19th show at Beacon Theater which is now sold out much to the chagrin of Adele message board folk who are decreeing a mini LCD Soundsystem level ticketing fiasco. No word on if additional shows will be added to Beacon or any other venue (but May 20, 21, 22 are all seemingly open on her tour schedule), but we'll keep you posted. Adele's new LP 21 is due on 2/22.

One night after headlining a bill with three openers, Phoenix were the only act of a special Clear Channel-sponsored performance (for online station iheartradio.com) at the P.C. Richards & Son Theater in TriBeCa (12/3). They played six songs in a tight 35-minute set, with very little banter, for a full house of contest winners and VIPs. It's been a wildly successful year for the newly-minted Grammy nominees, who also performed their cover of Air's "Playground Love", though Gordon Tracks aka Thomas Mars of Phoenix also sings on the original. "Two days before they take the stage at All Points West, Silversun Pickups played a private show at the PC Richard and Son theater in New York's Tribeca neighborhood, giving 200 online contest winners the chance to catch a stripped down, acoustic set from the fuzzed-out L.A. indie rockers....The PC Richard set was on Friday (7/31). They played All Points West, just barely, on Sunday (8/2). Due to rain, they ended up being the first band to play on the main stage. Steel Train and The Gaslight Anthem were both supposed to play before them, but their sets were cancelled. More pictures from the Manhattan show, and the setlist, below...
...The set abruptly closed with the band's most successful track to date, "Lazy Eye" (from 2006's Carnavas), after which Aubert stumbled over his guitar resting on its floor stand, knocking it over. In response, Aubert jokingly grabbed a nearby chair and tossed it, doing his best impression of a raging rock star. He then quickly apologized to the staff for doing so, and sat the chair back upright." [Rolling Stone]
