Wiz Khalifa @ Rock The Bells 2010 (more by Eric Townsend)
Wiz Khalifa

We're now up to four announced ticketed shows happening at Williamsburg Waterfront this summer. Thievery Corporation are playing the outdoor North Brooklyn space on Friday, June 24th, and tickets go on sale this Friday at noon which is also when Death Cab For Cutie/Frightened Rabbit tickets go on sale. The other two, which are already on sale, are Sonic Youth and Kid Cudi.

Wiz Khalifa, who plays the Roots Picnic on June 4th, and Monmouth University on July 29th, will play Central Park Summerstage on July 25th. Tickets go on presale Thursday at 10am, and then general sale Friday at noon.

Tickets go on AmEx presale today (5/4) at noon for Ratatat's upcoming show at the same Summerstage venue.

It's always confusing that, except from a promoter/series/financial/whatever point of view, "Central Park Summerstage" and "Rumsey Playfield" are actually the same venue even though you have to do two separate searches on Ticketmaster to find all the ticketed shows happening there. Ray Lamontagne and the Pariah Dogs are playing two Rumsey Playfield shows this year. The sold out 5/31 one was announced a while ago (with Brandi Carlile and The Secret Sisters opening), and the 9/26 one (with no openers announed yet) goes on presale Thursday at 10am, and then on general sale Friday at 10am.

In related news, Bon Iver's recently announced Prospect Park show is now sold out.

Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs are headlining Rumsey Playfield aka Central Park Summerstage with Brandi Carlile and The Secret Sisters on May 31st. Tickets go on sale at noon. The same lineup plays CMAC in Canandaigua, NY on 6/4 (on sale Saturday).

Tickets go on sale at noon for the Brian Wilson show at Wellmont Theater.

Tickets go on sale at noon for the Danzig show at Starland Ballroom.

Tickets go on sale at noon for the Sounds show at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo (June 9-12 in Manchester Tennessee) has announced the 2011 lineup (slightly early), and like the rumored Lollapalooza lineup, Eminem is among the headliners. Bonnaroo also has Grammy winners Arcade Fire and the Black Keys, in addition to Lil Wayne, Mumford & Sons, the Strokes, The Decemberists, Florence & the Machine, Girl Talk, Beirut (haven't seen them in a while), and many more. Full list below...

He plays there 11/9 and 11/10 and now 11/5 too. Tickets for the new show go on "Radio and MSG presale" on Thursday at 10AM, and then on general sale Friday at the same time.

Neko Case just announced a show there too.

Tickets to the November 9th show were not supposed to go on sale until Saturday, but apparently they are sold out and a November 10th show was added. Tickets for that one go on sale Saturday at 10am.

Ray LaMontagne

"We're thrilled to announce that Ray LaMontagne will return to the road in the U.S. this fall, starting with two dates with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on October 15 in North Bethesda, MD followed by an October 16 show at Meyeroff Symphony Hall.

Following the orchestra shows, LaMontagne's next dates will offer a polar opposite experience where the Maine singer songwriter will play stripped down solo acoustic shows starting November 1 at Atlanta's Fox Theatre."

Those "stripped down" shows include a November 9th show at New York's Beacon Theatre. Tickets for that show go on sale 8/8 at 10am, and some tickets will be available through Tickets for Charity, which will "offer fans a unique opportunity to buy front row seats while supporting leading charities. A portion of each package purchased on TicketsforCharity.com will automatically benefit The National Children's Cancer Society plus up to three partner charities of the fan's choice."

All tour dates are below...

Ray LaMontagne

On his third long-player since emerging four years ago from the New England wilderness, folk-soul lumberjack Ray LaMontagne breaks from his own proven formula, goosing his delicately ragged croon with bright r&b horns ("You Are the Best Thing"), spaghetti-western whistles ("Meg White"), and Black Crowes-style Southern-rock guitars ("Henry Nearly Killed Me [It's a Shame]"). Whereas, in the past, longtime producer Ethan Johns kept the sonic clutter to a minimum in order to spotlight LaMontagne's remarkable vocals--Ray is somebody you wouldn't mind seeing with only an acoustic for accompaniment--here the pair construct an in-studio ecosystem nearly as elaborate as Lambchop's. [The Village Voice]
Ray LaMontagne's new album Gossip in the Grain is out this week. On Saturday night (Oct 11), Ray played Radio City Music Hall in NYC. More pictures from that show below...
