Oneida had an eventful 2009 to say the least. They released a swirling, epic three-disc album, Rated O, on Jagjaguwar. Three tracks from it are above. They also played a ten and a half hour collaborative set, which they dubbed Ocropolis, at ATP NY in September. More recently, they closed the year with a limited-run cassette Fine European Food and Wine, via Scotch Tapes, which has already sold-out online (so actual stores and shows only). The tape captures the band's show-opening improvisations during their 2003 Italian tour, a trip driven by a cover story in a mag they describe as "basically the Rolling Stone of Italy (so we've been told)." As for 2010, they report: "we are working on a couple of additional projects and programs and titles for you in 2010...there will be some shows added very soon and maybe another private-style Ocropolis show in our studio." The first announced 2010 gig for the band happens Friday, January 29th at Market Hotel with Red Dawn II.
