As mentioned, Liars have two upcoming NYC shows: the "multimedia, site-specific performance" in the Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 18 (sold out); and then a second the next night (5/19) that was to have happened at Brooklyn Masonic Temple. That show, part of the Wordless Music Series, has been moved to Le Poisson Rouge and now features Doldrums as the opener. All previously purchased tickets will be honored and you can still get them too. We're also giving two pairs away.
As for Doldrums, they'll also play Ran Tea House in Williamsburg the day before the LPR show (5/18) with Rioux and Crux. All tour dates for Liars and Doldrums are listed below.
The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival tour is happening this summer with Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction, Coheed and Cambria, Circa Survive, Middle Class Rut, and others. It hits the NYC-area on August 10 at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT, August 17 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, and August 18 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. Tickets for those shows go on sale today at noon.
Rush Midnight and Rioux are playing Mercury Lounge on May 3. Tickets for that show go on sale today at noon.
Heathered Pearls is the moniker of Polish ambient musician Jakub Alexander who now lives in Brooklyn. He recently released his debut LP, Loyal, out now via Ghostly International. Lush and transportive, you can stream the entire LP below.
New York has a couple chances to see Heathered Pearls live. Tonight (1/18) he plays the "Connections" party at Ran Tea House with with Rioux, Prism House, and Certain Creatures. It promises to be an "exploration in electronic psychedelia" and is $5 before midnight, $7 after. More info here. Then he's also on the bill (DJing) for Austra's upcoming DJ night at Glasslands on January 25 . Tickets are still available.

Seattle's Beat Connection are back with a new album, The Palace Garden, which will be out June 19 on Moshi Moshi/That Tender Age. Still dancing in the balaeric realm, the new album is a little less hazy than it's predecessor -- you can stream two tracks below as well as check out the LP's cover art and full track list.
The group, who have expanded from a duo to a four-piece, are going on tour to support the new album, stopping in NYC on July 5 at Knitting Factory with White Arrows, Teen Daze and Rioux. Tickets for that show are on sale. All upcoming dates are listed below.
